Joe Gilder doesn't get enough praise. I've been following him over the years and he is an exceptional teacher of pro audio, especially for newcomers wanting to making music. Very articulate, but explains things in a way that even the layman can understand easily and he's a pretty funny dude as well, which makes him fun to listen to. His success with being able to work with PreSonus and Swetwater, is a tribute to his dedication to helping aspiring music makers in their journey.

There is nothing for me in this update so I can patiently wait for the next one. One thing that made me laugh is that they spent time making the Desser plugin and at the same time they added dynamic EQ 🤣. I would like to get a proper filter plugin in an update so I can skip using EQ for that purpose.

@@PendelSteven Yes, I upgraded to SOA6 this weekend, loaded my CLA plugins, and I'm about as happy as can be. CLA Sig Series is GREAT for people like me (on the artist side) who haven't spent enough time learning to properly produce. These plugins all but flatten the learning curve. Thanks!

Hi joe! What is the best midi keyboard which has good keys and awesome pads, faders, knobs and has full control of the studio one daw. I am a newbie still learning music production and even though studio one is my first and only daw, I have kind of fallen in love with it that I don’t want to try any other daw, I want to master it. I have saved $200 dollars I need a midi keyboard you can recommend suitable for studio one.
@uselessoldman79642 жыл бұрын
The Nektar midi keyboard controllers are good valve for money, the Novation Impulse is great the Launchkey range is slightly cheaper but the best are from Native Instruments but the S range is expensive since it comes with a lot of software and is fully Kontakt integrated (nks) so look at those with less features and no screens. If your budget is limited try and find a decent second hand one !!

@sijosam12 жыл бұрын
I like S1, but it's my understanding that the Multi-core CPU usage is basically non-existent and they don't seem interested in these top-requested features, as suggested by their own users. I'm at the point where working in larger sessions is basically impossible from a processing standpoint, and mixing projects with conservative track/plugin counts always seems to max out on processor utilization (creating audio glitching/skips/etc.). I'm constantly having to commit/print down effects just to make the session a reasonable work environment. The fact that S1 v6 doesn't have any CPU improvements or modern features, like Dolby Atmos is concerning. They added lyrics, video, and GUI customization options. Who asked for this? None of these are performance improvements, which to me is the most important aspect of a DAW. If something takes me out of my workflow, it has to be eliminated. I have a high-powered workstation, but I'm considering upgrading to something really robust with top-of-the-line multicore/thread count, maxed out top-speed RAM, all M.2 and SSD high-speed drives, and all the other fixings for a top-tier machine that will last for years to come.

i have a 15 year old laptop with an upgraded 16 gb ram and an ssd . I regularly have 100 or more tracks going . , the only time i get problems is if i have a ton of midi and v instruments going on but you can freeze these or bounce out the tracks very quickly and disable all the cpu munchers

They call this an upgrade?? Seriously?? Track Icons are long over due, individual track customisation is nice but nothing special the new plugins are great but I use Fabfilter and Izotope and I have zero interest in Sphere. SO I am left scratching my head as to what I actually need and would pay for? But then the one thing I do need and want is SURROUND SUPPORT and clearly this is something they have decided will NEVER be supported so I am forced to use another DAW !! KZbin now offers surround support this is something Studio One also needs but is missing. WHy?

Incidently, I've also been using Studio One since version 2. I watched a lot of videos about Studio One, because I was really interested in a new DAW. The simple reverb-add-thing that Joe demonstrated is why I love S1. It doesn't make you do things you don't need to do. I love software like that. After all, that's where computers are good for.
