We've never used the Mojave but it looks fun. The SBR is a lot of fun too, but I think Losi is discontinuing it. The UDR is a great Desert Truck too, have you check that one out? -Brett

i wish they added a little front bumper at the bottom like the normal baja rey. i think there is a little grill bumper but they should put a little bumper on, but it looks more of a super stadium truck instead of a trophy truck, stadium trucks dont have visible bumpers on the front

Yeah I'm getting the 1/10 for Christmas. Make sure to get the SSD RC rear third member and SSD RC front bulkhead. Also a servo and aluminium servo horn. I'm just warning you, from what I've heard and what I'm personally preparing for is that there is a bearing problem hence me recommending the SSD RC parts because they up the bearing size. It's gonna be about $150 to get it dialed as hell. Then, from what I've heard, it'll be super durable!!!

I Have recently got back in the Hobby and bought a Kyosho mp9e from you guys. I'm going to buy this and April or the x-maxx or Mojave. Which would you pick for someone that is just going to be messing around? I'm not bashing very hard.

They're both great... big lugs to carry around. Sure you want something that big and heavy? My personal, bias opinion, would be to pick up the Arrma Kraton 6S BLX. It's the best all-around, do anything, high performance truck available. The X-Maxx is right there next to it, but it sits higher, has a higher CG, and drives like a big tall truck. The Kraton is low, wide and high performance; very much like the Traxxas E-Revo 2.0 (they go head to head). What looks cool to you is also important, which would be a good reason to go X-Maxx or Mojave, if you like that style. I tend to favor performance over style when I want to hammer down on the trigger, but it's a give and take, and a lot of personal taste. The Mojave, X-Maxx, Kraton and E-Revo 2.0 are all great R/C's honestly, and I'm just being a little snobby, but you did ask what I'd pick, so... I hope this helps you sir. -Brett

I like the Mojave more than the Traxxas, but I also like upgrades. And I think her more for the Losi and Traxxas if I'm correct?

AMain Hobbies hey Brett, I only have about 2 partial runs on it It starts with 4 pulls and seems too sip gasoline. I’m using premix 25:1 VP racing fuel and it runs fantastic on it. On the second run one of the bolts holding the clutch shoes on,backed out and stopped it in its tracks after the bolt hit the clutch bell. Took it apart and tightened it,and it’s been fine ever since. Weather is turning cold here in Jersey,so not sure how many more runs I’ll get. I have one short vid of it running. Maybe I’ll load it too my You tube channel.

Not really. If you use the stock axle hex, at this time only the stock Losi wheels and tires are available. But, if you buy the 17mm hex conversion, that opens up your tire options.

The "Super" is a larger car, 1/6 scale I believe. Regular Baja Rey vehicles are 1/10 scale. -Brett

I was on the fence too about which one to get. Then came the stay home order and honestly must have watched like 30 hours of big scales rc videos! My choices were the UDR, Super Ray and Mojave. After watching videos and reading up many good reviews, I did finally pulled the trigger on the one I wanted this week.

The RTR is discontinued. I'm sure parts will be available for a few years to come. I read online somewhere the BND would still be available, but I can't even find it now, only the RTR's. -Brett

@AMain Hobbies Those that are successfully running 8s use the Hobbywing Max 5 esc with no issue as it is a true 8s ESC. The FUZE Esc reads that it is 8s capable, but has been proven to be untrue. They literally destroy themselves on 8s.

Yes traxxas did start in the late 80's, but again they were shit, the cat was a turd, the sledgehammer was decent , the only real competition car was the the trx 1 but it got destroyed by losi jrx2's and associated rc10's plus the diff was shit. The 80's were the same as today , you show up to a real rc race series with a traxxas, you will be laughed at unless it is a short course race but even then losi and associated still dominate. Traxxas's niche in the hobby is for newbies first cars, if you can't build a kit and want to pull something out of a box and drive.

Traxxas did it first and looks way better. This looks like a very expensive toy compared. Usually Traxxas looks toyish compared to other companies, but they really nailed it with this. Losi and New Horizon, spend some money, and use some licensing. Sheesh, you guys are so cheap.

It sort of fell into the same trap of modern Race SCTs, looking for squat and funky. I'm not sure why you'd accuse of it of being cheap though. The UDR doesn't have a metal chassis/brace or beefy metal linkages, resulting in it being far more fragile
