I really appreciate how detail-oriented you guys are with menu functions, power-on beeps, etc. It shows that you guys care about your products. That's what customers want, products made by people who care and listen. Personally, I am very grateful that there is no super-mega-ultrabright blue LED like so many other consumer electronics! :) Anything with a bright LED gets covered with black tape.

Just received my two radios last week. One for my mobile and one for my home. Outstanding radios. Both put out the wattage claimed.

As someone who can’t see, I think the power on beep can be handy to know that the unit actually powered on, but the radio making noise by virtue of pushing literally any other button after powering it on makes it a small convenience next to the disruption to a lot of people having to put up with it when starting their vehicles. All the same, having an option somewhere to get it back might be a nice thing.

How is it with engine alternator noise if you’re running it off the cigarette lighter/power port? Unfortunately my truck battery has side mount post.

I wish I had a mobile that could be manually switched into an auto-repeater mode. Let's say I can park my vehicle at the top of a hill and put my mobile into repeater mode. I can dismount and walk around with my lower powered HT and use my vehicle at the top of the hill to reach out with its greater farsability, while I am conveniently walking around with my HT keeping in touch or having a way to reach people if I need it. It would be super convenient even if I needed to pair the HT and mobile together some way that limited the function to one handheld.

@buytwowayradios will this really work in my 2024 accord cigarette lighter plug comfortably? I know the radio wants more volts/amps than my cigarette lighter plug can give. I don’t wanna melt my car. Lol..😝 will it work? Granted it may not give me anywhere near full power, will it work? Thx

according to ARRL RF Exposure Calculator , I can not put out more than 20 watts on my mobile radio setup at 144Mhz , so 20 watts radio is perfect, small is good. I only transmit less than 1minite , so small heat sink is not problem, AG6JU

If I were going to design a GMRS radio, I rather design a radio that be used in both a portable or a mobile. I would want incorporate two services that covers GMRS as well as MURS. Take a look back at old Motorola MT 1000 Radio ,which used MVA to use the radio as mobile or base. Of course the radio must a dual band and meet FCC part 95 A E & J or E & J to be used for GMRS and MURS. I know that radio would be got radio for preppers and recreational users.
