adaptive algorithms does not necessarily mean "self-learning", it just means continuous learning. Then the learning process can be done by the AI experts following a specific protocol, or by the algorithm it self, in that case it could be called "self-learning".

Why isn't Kaiser unleashing diagnostic AI on member's medical data to look for potentially undiagnosed diseases that are difficult for human experts to spot? At the very least they could sometimes suggest tests that could unlock treatments for a great many members.
