However far I've come, I've done by running from that life. That line alone hits so hard. If they do remake the og titles. They really have to keep it revenge filled. No matter how much i love new Kratos. They have to keep his sympathetic side at a bare minimum.

The probably have to slightly change the whole hope twist. In God Of War 3 they actively tried to turn him into a hero with that, Along with Pandora, With him "forgiving" himself for the death of his family while somewhat missing the point. The entire reason Penelope and Kratos's wife are dead is because he engaged in unnecessary cruelty and paid the price. Never mind the fact that he doesn't care about how many people will die because of his actions, Him putting a poor woman who has suffered like him inside a gear just so he can open a goddamn door and then immediately going papa wolf on Pandora is far too much of a departure. Just a few things to change would be the door actively needing the blood of an innocent (It's arbitrary but at least makes sense why Kratos doesn't just use his god killing Blade to keep the door open) and him more openly falling to further and further despair as the consequence of his action not only catch up to him(Like in God Of War 2) but realizing how similar to Ares he has become, The man responsible for him killing his family, Right down to using anything and anyone to get what he wants, But still doubling down in more and more mindless rage because it's all he has left, That is until Pandora dies. Realizing that His only chance at ANY sort of redemption is gone , Not because that he was not strong enough, But because He has not changed, a man that will kill his family, whether by a trick or just his own unpromising behavior. The scene of Kratos forgiving himself would work if he has any sort of self awareness to realize he was wrong, Especially with with Zeus dead and no one else left to blame. Making Kratos looking less like a defiant act, And more like a suicide of a horrible man falling to despair but still wanting to fix his mistake in the only way he can, Murder, Except this time he is killing the monster.

He is living purely out of spite in GOW 3 otherwise in 2 he would have un killed his family. Pandora though is like Orkos they know what they must do but it feels like an undesired sacrifice. The Higher Plane of Existence is the most interesting unexplored part of GOW 3

@@EpicvidsKetti08 The defiance in GOW 3 feels out of place given that Kratos doesn't kill Kratos with his rage, But after Zeus force feeds him his worst nightmare, In which he needs to finally understand his flaws. In GOW 1 this felt earned because the whole story was about Kratos trying to make amends, Nut in 3 it comes as a chea shot for him to use the power of freaking hope, The power of a hero, While in the story he has been nothing BUT an unnecessarily cruel man without even an ounce of self awareness. Pandora's existence feels hollow not only because it looks contrived like the power of hope thanks to Kratos's character swinging back and forth like a pendulum for her (The bastard kills a slaved innocent woman and crowds of people for no reason), But on top of it the sacrifice doesn't even mean anything, Kratos after being drained of his powers kills Hades and the entire pantheon and yet the game expects us and the story t think that we can't kill Zeus, Despite already kicking his teeth in GOW 2 without some pulling any powers at the last minute.

Ridding the world of the gods so she alone could rule runs counter against her not letting Kratos kill Zeus, Trying to convince him not to by telling Kratos Zeus is his father ON TOP of warning him about Olympus Why not let him do the job? Just so he brings down the wrath of Olympus, Likely resulting in the pantheon dying all the same, All guaranteed thanks to him climbing from the underworld numerus times, When all is said and done THEN taking the power of hope without looking like a prick.

The dev team was very clever in this DLC. Not only did they test the waters with giving Kratos a 2h sword (Which we haven't seen prominently used in 10yrs), but they also tested the aesthetics of culturally significant weapons like the khopesh, macahuitl, and the katana/odachi. Given how successful the game has been thus far, I guarantee that the next entry in the GoW series is going to involve at least one of the aforementioned weapons.

I dunno, my thought was that if we got an atreus dlc or side game, it would end with him accidentally wandering into another pantheon, getting into trouble and have Kratos go in, looking for a calm resolution, but end up having no other choice than to go to war. My best guess is the next game will be all about Altreus and his jorneys, while hearing murmurs of Kratos inspiring hope in the world again (and birthing Christianity). The entire new games for GOW roughly use the material meant to be used in the OG comics.

ID LOVE A REMAKE OF THE OG TRILOGY!!! But I'd definitely love to see the series further progress with the other mythologies hinted at on Tyr's panel in GOW 2018, Tyr's "poses" In Ragnarok, and weaponry in Valhalla. There's too much hinting of other mythologies for them not to explore. But there's only one condition I have. Kratos and his blades MUST be in the future games. GOW is not GOW without him and his unique weapons.

This is probably the last dlc for gow ragnarok if they do so more dlc, I think a better way to tackle it is to add more sub bosses or maim bosses in the forum like some greek gods or add more enemy types like the stone golems or medusa just like any rougelite i play such as dead cells, soul knight and many these rougelites started to have 2-3 bosses at each stage as the game grew there is like a plethora of bosses and random of enemy types in those games

He regrets it the most because Helios did show him kindness when he saved kratos back in Chains of Olympus. He also might have regretted out of all the gods his death had the most impact on Greece losing access to the sun. Also Helios was an inferior warrior that didn’t pose much of a threat as the worst he did to him was lie about the flame of olympus and tried to blind kratos. His brutal death is something kratos might see as unjustified now.

Hope is something natural and that it is very related to war. War creates the hope that things will be better, conflict does that to. So I think he will still be god of war but accepting hope and making it a part of him balances it.

As you can imagine I was very pleased with Valhalla, I think a remake of the og GoW series would be incredible. The story in those games may not be as deep but they're is so much they can experiment with and tell the brutal story of Greek Kratos.

I would assert that he is now the god of war AND god of hope. Gods in mythology often fill multiple roles. Odin is the god of war and death, Thor the god of thunder and strength, Athena the god of wisdom and warcraft, Apollo the god of archery, music, light, so on.

@smarty1268 I'm honestly ok with that too. The norse story was so compelling, it'll be nice to have people sit with it for a while. It'll be hard to top. Having kratos go to Egypt and slice up anubis wouldn't cut it. There's also Atreus' possible spin off. SMS is said to be working on a new IP as well right now so that'll probably come out before a new God of War.

You know, mythology is filled with examples of God's who overtake multiple roles. There's no reason why kratos couldn't be the god of war and hope. They wouldn't have to change the title of the game he is still the god of war, but he can inspire hope onto those who go to war. It definitely doesn't have to be one or the other.

Hope was inside him ever since he opened Pandora's box, and when he sacrificed himself to release hope into the world, it stood with him as well. I think it's more inligtenment than a general power persay. A philosophy to use as the new God of war, so the role doesn't consume him like it did all those years ago.

And kratos seeking a way back to his realm. I can't see sindri playing a role as a villin or antagonist to kratos but I can see him doing something to get even with kratos like tricking him into a situation where he is ripped from the Nordic realm.

Well i have a theory of what's next: what if Kratos goes to the next mythology as an ambassador or specifically cause he was asked to come my guess i Egyptian mythology since he met ibis and it probably has to do with Athena. hear me out on this what if Kratos in the next game tries to stop a war between mythologies which in some ways Athena and maybe higher existence beings have made allies in these mythologies and helped them rise to power. For Egypt its easy to guess they allied with Sett made him take his brother's throne and now fulfills their blessings Kratos goes to egypt as ibis or someone who knows of Kratos and are against Sett to assist Horus to retake the throne. But if i would choose who would be with him from Norse mythology I'd say Hel his future granddaughter where she is already queen of niffilheim but still isn't hang up on the role so snuck her way in her grandfather's ship trying escape her work and responsibility, would be fun seeing her learn more about her powers from Anubis And the weakest choice and the one im not hardly sold on but for the some their fans ill give them and that if he has a child with Freya trying to proof his or her worth or sth which im not really sold on that but hey we put just in case If I'd a start would a boat crash and Sett's men chasing Kratos while he looking for his allies and survivors. The Game would probably revolve on Kratos teaching arrogant Horus to become a better leader almost as an advisor. But thats mostly what i thought about.

Of kratos no longer has Atreus to motivate his anger so all they can do is feed his anger by some entity am that gives him to be angry like dark Kahn from mk vs dcuniverse or the tentation like atrocitus does with green lantern in injustice 2 or make his version pass to take the actual krato’s place for dying just like scorpion did in mo11, or Sony could give him a symbiote to make him angry, of be affected by gamma radiation to become a big hulking version of kratos, or make another character who had the same anger issues like kratos and kratos heaving the duty to be his mentor to become a better person , or have a rival like Goku and vegeta, or Superman and bizarro like kratos and sotark or something like that. For example what if there was Loki but not being related by kratos ? The same thing could there be another kratos not being related with Zeus and yes with ares ? In some alternative dimention ? How about that ?

He is basically still a Fallen God, just as ever since the GoW 2 intro. Maybe he will be a Norse style God. He wont ever be a God of War in the olympian, or "meta-physical" sense as Helios put it. Where he could see beyond time and space into WW2, Iraq etc. Where his favour made the Spartan armies invincible in the battle. The powers of Ares that he inherited. Before he was a part of the Olympian Council, ruling the cosmos as one of the 12 Olympians. Now, he is apart of Freya's "council" whatever that is, fulfulling a symbolic role as Mimir explained.

I think the original 3 still hold up and i dont think they will be able to remake them without causing controversy because of how violent they are and how some people may portray how kratos treated woman in that game. The realistic graphics would make the gore more realistic

Kratos perhaps instead of War or hope , maybe he's better suited as the God of Strength akin to the real Cratus in greek mythology. Only now it isn't just Physical strength. Strength of Body. Strength of Mind. Strength of Heart. Strength of Will.

I'm going to share my wish, this is no prediction nor hint and it's not even an opinion about the DLC nor the most recent games... only my wish: I wish that Santa Monica remaster the older games (6 total) applying the current game engines, while slowly and quietly working on the concept and realization of the new GOW. It is my belief that this type of games need time produce and be as breathtaking as possible, curate the narrative and integrate GOW to new pantheons so it can make sense, respecting the mythology while having creative liberties to move forward the story. Give us remakes to reminisce the old Kratos, while enjoying the graphics and mechanics that today's technology can offer. This will keep us busy and distracted, plant easter eggs so we can theorize for the new GOW title, it will keep the fan base fed for years.

He should have felt more guilt for Hepheaustus, Hermes(he could have easily get the boots without the kill), Poseidon was just protecting his home and Kratos had personal beef against him , bloody he'll even Hera was of zero threat to him ( that contradicts the myths were Hera is an all-powerful godess)
