My story is almost the same as yours. I am recently widowed trying to run this little homestead. I took have acquired several animals, 2 horses, 2 mules,11 goats and 4 sheep until this morning when my sheep 🐑🐑 population grew with 3 new baby lambs

Thank you, friend. I LOVED what you said about 'minus my husband, I have more still'. I hadn't ever thought of it that way. I thought things like "OMG how am I going to raise 4 kids & keep this house together?" and "why did he insist on such a big house!?". Messy home or not, unmowed lawn or not, the kids are all grown & good, and, as it turns out, in my situation, that's all that really matters. They're part of that 'more still'.

I loved seeing you out with your sheep, made me miss my little flock so much, as i used to do the same it was the most peaceful comforting thing! They were Suffolk and a few Dorset and became very tame and some would come and lean in just like your sweet one was doing and then lie down right up close and chew their cuds with the greatest enjoyment. I loved it so so much!❤ Loved the camfire another of my favorite things! Poor old Leonard he is a fortunate guy to end up with you! He worked so well pulling out the tree!

And we believe in YOU young lady. I wish that some viewers would not be asking you such personal questions and to just enjoy your videos for what they are!! Informative and entertaining. Really liked the closing statement, and feel like that should speak volumes about your future endeavors to us, your viewers. Cheers to you from BC Canada.

Definitely do rotation grazing. Jim Gerrish book Management Intensive Grazing is the best. Thank you for the well wishes. You are exactly right. 1+1= so much more. I will keep on keeping on. ❤ Also, the definition of down wind is whatever side of the fire you're sitting on.

With 25 hectares it seems that would be large enough to make a full time living off of...but I really don't know. Working a full time job with a long commute and the farm, you must put the Swedish love for coffee to a test. Glad to hear you have good neighbors, it's like having extra hands. Will be following your journey, all the best.

Morning from the UK. It's bizarre how we can now live vicariously with people around the world, there is something wonderfully symbiotic about it. In your first episode you were asking about ideas for your other dilapidated building. Bunk house for Work Aways or WWOOFers, for help at certain times, holiday let maybe....

Two small tips: First, some wool merchants buy wool for insulation and make insulation plates. Wool has very good heat properties and is eco-friendly. Second, I saw you used a briquette to start your fire; you get as good result by using dry heather which is abundant in your forests. Used to paddle in the 80s and never had any tinder with me, always used dried heather, was more effective even if it rained. 😎

You are doing a great job . When I saw what you did with the roof tile in the chicken coop , I thought dang that girl is really thinking. You'll do great I don't need to tell you that you really are thinking things through. I was brought up on a large dairy farm in Minnesota we had somwheres between 80 to 140 Holstein milk cows, plus my sister's had 4H Suffolk sheep with they showed at the fair. That inspired my father to get into raising sheep also ,so he went and bought a herd of 2000 Finn crossed. Like we didn't already have enough to do. Lots of sleepless nights come lambing season. But I have always thought about using Suffolk as dairy sheep .your thoughts? Thanks for the awesome video Randy😊

Lovely video as usual! 👏🏻 I adore your sweet horses and sheep! So sorry for your chicken losses! 😭 On that note, do you have any tips on where to get chickens in Sweden? I'm working on my coop plans but have no clue where to grab some hens when it's ready. In the USA, farm/feed stores would have little baby chicks but I assume it's different here since Sweden has far better animal welfare laws.
