Nathan Callidor and these 3 nations have existed for about a century, there was no self determination involved in the formation of much of what we call the nations of the Middle East. The borders are defined by French and British interests at the time of the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. These are a people who have been persecuted, gassed and bombed by vicious dictators in recent history. They have an admirable culture and absolutely deserve the unification and independence they have been fighting for.

@Comrade Stalin Suryoyo Gypsy, Neither is Iran today the motherland of the Kurds nor are the Kurds from Iran: 1. Today's Iran is only a very small part of historical Iran, which ruled over the territories of the new states "Turkey", "Syria", "Iraq", when there were no Arabs or Turks in those regions. 2. Kurds do not come from Iran, but have come about through the mixing of ancient Mesopotamian and Anatolian peoples with Iranian peoples, such as Parthians and / or Medes. The Iranian peoples began with the beginning of Ethnogenesis of the Kurds by linguistically and culturally prevailing over the other peoples in today's Kurdish settlement area, or have the other iranisiert or assimilated.

So people here overwhelmingly support the Kurds having their own homeland (i do as well), but how many people here are happy to support a multicultural Britain, France, Germany, Sweden, etc? I just find a lot of double standards whereby its just assumed the Kurds, without question, should be allowed a homeland of their own and to remain the overwhelming majority within their own borders but many European nations MUST be multiculural and accept large number of non Europeans (not even just other Europeans but African, Arabs, etc) to the point that statsistically they’ll be a minority in their own countries in several generations, and anyone who objects to this is “racist, hitler, insert generic insult”. Just intereting to compare the double standards.
@samnicholson50515 жыл бұрын
Rojava isnt an ethno state (or a singular "state" more of a loose confederation of cantons) nor is the ypg a nationalist force. You're thinking of the Iraqi kurds. While most of those fighting for independance of Northern Syria are Kurdish, there are also Assyrians, Arabs, Armenians etc. and is just as multicultural. Which is good, because we could do with less theocracies or ethnostates especially in the middle east, which has caused nothing but bloodshed and genocide (Iraq, Israel, Turkey, Iran, Saudi Arabia)
@Hustlin875 жыл бұрын
sam n Ok, so multiculturalism in this part of the world only includes people indigenous to the local area or close by? What they really need is the sort of multiculturalism forced onto European peoples, why not import 500,000 Africans, 500,000 Bangladeshis and 500,000 Hondurans into Kurdish lands every single year? That would be real multiculturalism, the same type the media keeps telling us is a strength! These people will be the new Kurds and if the current Kurds complain its cause theyre Nazis and Hitlers, great right?

You can be sure Western governments will take them all in with open arms at the expense of, and against the will of their own people. If youre non white and want to live in a country that is predominantly your own people, thats considered perfectly acceptable and not questioned. If youre white and want to live in a country that is predominantly your own people, youre callled a racist, nazi, hitler, extremist, etc your government will arrest you, the media and activists will shame you, harass you, become violent towards you, etc. Double standards is an understatement.

The title is misleading. Calling fighters of the SDF "Kurds" makes people believe everyone involved is Kurdish. Large number of Arabs and smaller portions of Assyrians fight and inhabit the land east of the Euphrates. Painting the SDF and it's Northern territories as a "Kurdish State" is sinister. The two are not synonymous and undermines the supposed wish for federalism to accommodate all ethnicities. This whitewashing is nothing new. The YPG already altered text books for schools under their administration with Kurdish propaganda. It's Communist ideology fueled by ethno-nationalism.

1 never 2 God is the reason for the terrible death and destruction. Give up the fools fantasy. God does not exist . All you have is a very brief moment to share love and experience life and its incredible reality .

@@timoffreethought580 never say never if a fools fantasy is free and open for all to be broken down and to be teared appart. if i can think it, i most certainly can make it true. hivemind or not, idgaf. not that i want to carry any more weight but if this free world requires me to, be assured that i will.

Why is Syria called a "regime" while kurds are called "Syrian Democratic Forces". What exactly is "democratic" in the kurds structures? Kurds never voted, they have no parliament, no president, nothing democratic at all. Syria has all democratic elements but is called a Regime (by those hypocrites).

Syria is not a democracy. It's in a grey area between a republic and dictatorship. The country can best be summarized as a republic with regular elections, with some dictatorial threads. The SDF is controlled by Democratic Federation of Northern Syria, which is an elected governing body, look up 2017 Northern Syria local elections. Furthermore, the SDF states its mission as fighting to create a secular, democratic and federal Syria. That's were the name comes from. Hopefully this cleared up your confusion on the subject.

mihdd ofcourse Kurds have a parliament. It’s obvious you don’t get your information from the correct sources. Rojava (North Syria) has had many elections. It’s ignorant people like you are a shame to humanity.
