I love what you said about using it to be more present in the moment! I have ADHD and I use my apple watch largely as a "middle man" between me and the timesuck apps that live on my phone, like you said. Checking a text on my watch means I don't end up on Instagram or Twitter for two hours, and it helps me moderate how much time I am spending on apps like those too. We love using tech to help keep us on track!

One of the reasons I bought an Apple Watch. I have access to all the apps/info I actually need. And all my time suck apps are left on my iPhone. I have that same habit tracker on mine, and just a tip - when you're setting up a new habit, the habits with a tiny little heart next to them are the ones that pull data from Health, so for example, water or mindfulness minutes, steps or standing hours. Super helpful as it's completely automated (also because the Apple Watch doesn't come with any Mindfulness goals). Totally agree with you though about the notifications - I get so many Snapchat notifications and since it doesn't have an apple watch app, I can just view who pinged me and decide if it's worth picking my phone up for! I haven't yet committed to putting my phone in my bag though - it's always glued to my hand

I have grown onto my watch to the point where I can’t go anywhere w/o it haha. For people looking or thinking to invest I would say go for it. I have gotten so many of my friends on the Apple Watch wave. However, do not go in expecting amazing battery life like some of the other smartwatches in the market. The Apple Watch is packed with so many amazing features and capabilities that other smartwatches could never come close to having in the Apple ecosystem. U won’t regret it.

I agree with your review 100% - I too bought my first Apple watch (6 series) in 2020 to accelerate my healthy habit tracking. I wish this video had been made then because I struggled finding content on how to use it. I don't know if this is offered everywhere, but when I received my watch, Apple reached out to schedule a time to review the features with me and that helped me integrate the watch into my phone apps. Keep up with the great content!

At first I was overwhelmed by all the notifications I was receiving on my watch throughout the day until I realized I could turn off all notifications on my phone, mirror my watch and left only the messages, phone, and calendar notifications on my phone. That way I can control which notifications I want to see. I really don't need to see all the notifications from IG or FB all day, so that helped. I also like the sleep app to track and keep a record. I am a good sleeper but I was curious to know the stages of my sleep. I also use the heart app alot to track my heart rate and steps for the health app. I have gotten a lot of good use out of my watch and I am so glad I have one. Hope you continue to enjoy yours.

How long were you using this watch before you created this video review? I’d be very interested to see a follow up video in about 3 months to see if you are using all of the features that you are using now. When I buy something new I find it really fun and interesting and then after a month or so I get bored and go back to my old habits but with the watch I can see some benefits but then I don’t like the privacy issues around things like Siri or Health data. I’m thinking of getting a smart watch but not sure if it’s worth it for me.
