Billie is multi-dimensional. I prefer listening to the song over the video, Chihiro is one of her favorite movies, about a girl who loses her parents. Billie and her brother have 19 Grammys and 4 Oscars between them. Billie is very gifted at only 22 yo now. Thanks for your reaction.

the movie is actually called spirited away, the main characters name is chihiro. her and her brother only have 9 grammy’s each, 2 oscar’s each. so put together it’s 18 and 4.

A little info for what the video is about/the concept behind it, and about the song title. 'Chihiro' is named after the lead character of the Hayao Miyazaki film Spirited Away. In the beloved 2001 movie, a 10-year-old girl named Chihiro moves with her parents and enters a spirit realm where her parents turn into pigs. The film follows Chihiro as she gains a new understanding and appreciation of life as she tries to save herself and her family. For the song, she “envisioned a dream-like narrative” with “long, dark hallways and shutting of doors” in order to “symbolize the different corners of the mind,” according to a press release of the new music video. This could be seen as the musician and her costar Nat Wolff run away from each other through several rooms and even fight a few times in dark hallways and eventually outdoors. In the music video, the pair just can’t seem to get rid of each other no matter how they try, which Eilish said was a representation of their “inescapable connection.” They appear to battle it out in the grass for the last few moments of the music video, before the music video ends with them sitting together in the grass during a sunset. Eilish said this was meant to show the “external expression of an internal push and pull, as our deepest feelings of fear, love, or desire inevitably catch up to us, no matter how hard we try to run away,”

I agree with you Rosalie, because I also think this track is about confused boundaries. It is about subtle changes in the dynamics of a relationship and the fine line between love and hate, adjuration and admonition, Ardour and abuse.

Billie is the king/queen of depicting toxic relationships with incredible authenticity. Check out "The Greatest" live (Olympics handover or Late Show). Holy crap, the emotionality and incredible vocals are off the charts. Great reaction, thanks!

why did u feel the need to say "king", I'm just confused cuz her pronouns have always just been she/her
@mouthbreether3 ай бұрын
@@thatweirdbwah_ "queen" is perceived as a diminutive of "king" by a lot of people. like when music chart rankings are separated by zoological gender. "she's the highest ranked female this week" can be received as back-handed praise by some people. semantics. making an attempt to respectfully acknowledge that only shows respect. also, billie has referred to several of her peers in the biz as "king" regardless of gender.
@horsehollerer3 ай бұрын
@@thatweirdbwah_ Yeah, nothing to do with pronouns. I just think she'd prefer to play a king than a queen so I'm just leaving the options open lol. I mean, when she was asked who should play her in a movie, she did say "Steve Carell." It's her call, not mine 🤣

crazy how the music video and song has two meanings from the lyrics being based on the Japanese movie ‘spirited away’ and then the music video being about a toxic relationship. my interpretation of the song is that it starts with her walking through all the open doors and closing them representing all the opportunities to leave and do the easier and better thing but she still goes to the only closed door and forces it open into the toxic relationship where she runs up the stairs and starts arguing with her partner instantly. she then mentions that she needed a break and he disappeared from the room where she then talks about how she ‘looked away’ for one second but when she turned back it ‘wasn’t your face’ meaning that she no longer recognises who he has become and that he has changed. she then leaves the room to find that he had ‘gone away’ almost like he didn’t want to wait for her. she then found him and started arguing instantly again as soon as the relationship started again but during the argument it started to get intimate and they ran away together (again showing the way toxic relationships go back and forth from being happy to mad) then it shows her in a different outfit on her own almost as if time has passed and they are no longer together and you can see that she seems a lot happier and even flirtier but she then sees him again and the song sings ‘i don’t know why i called, i don’t know you at all’ which could mean she called him up again but again she says that she doesn’t recognise him and can see that he isn’t good for her and is toxic and abusive. therefore, she tried to run away from him but he catches her and starts pinning her down quite aggressively so that she can’t leave and she then takes dominance and climbs on top of him and starts hitting him and trying to run away it he keeps dragging her down and hitting her until they are tangled up together which could show her feeling like she’s stuck in this situation and can’t run away until eventually they are both exhausted and she lays down and ends up giving in and pulls herself back up to him indicating that she went back to the toxic relationship.

That was a... DEEP review, loved it. ❤ I feel smarter just from watching your video 😅 Got me curious to what else you've been doing here, gurl! I'm so checking it all out. PS: I'd been thru a rail coaster relationship like the one depicted here, in a constant revolution between love and fight. Not necessarily toxic, just immature of the both of us. Eventually we grow up and learn better. And oh, you've mentioned Brazilian jiu-jitsu... as a matter of fact,

Billie is an old soul. When I first heard this song I FELT SPIRITED AWAY. It feels like an ambient/ trance / Ibiza summer song. I absolutely love it! Meaning: You can read about this song and its “ inspiration “ and “ meaning “ ( toxic relationships that are abusive - emotionally, physically, etc followed by the “ resolution/ honeymoon phase- repetitive). I have watched a lot of reactions to this video from a variety of different reactors. Those from reactors like you Rosalie take it from a psychological perspective of relationships . Some take it directly as inspiration from the movie Spirited Away. Regardless, I will say that I am heartened by the fact that so many males 1) Are visibly uncomfortable when the argument turns physical and 2) immediately call out the physicality shown and the toxicity of the relationship. We are making progress in turning male emotions into something other than “ defensive “ or “ anger” that they have been conditioned to “ feel “ as men. ❤

This is exactly what a toxic and abusive relationship looks like. How you get pulled back to your abuser after an episode, when everything is lovely again for a moment, and then the abuse begins again. Billie has spoken about being in a very emotionally abusive relationship. This video hit home, hard
