Grrm and Lisa Tuttle collaboration of Windhaven is the most beautiful and unique sifi/fantasy/political drama I've read. Needs a decent CGI budget but with a like Martin as the author it should be possible.

Well there's already been six movies and there's a TV show but I would love to see J. R. R. Tolkien's The Silmarillion I read it a couple years ago it is fascinating every bit the story that Lord of the rings or the hobbit is. It would be amazing to see a series about Lúthien and Beren and Fëanor it would be epic.

Desmond's power seems like what the Sorceresses of Rossak had during the Machine War. Hopefully they get a call out. Also, this series seems to be a direct sequel to the "Great Schools of Dune" book trilogy ("Sisterhood of Dune", "Mentats of Dune", and "Navigators of Dune"). At the end of the trilogy, Javicco Corrino (Emperor in the show) is still a child and his father Roderick sits the throne.

My one big hope for this series is that it will give Emily Watson some long-needed exposure, but she hasn't been really mentioned in any of the discussion, which makes me sad. Her chaacter sin't giving her a lot of chances to stretch.

I watched the first episode last night and I was blown away. And the actress they got to play the younger version of the main character that was amazing casting. Olivia Williams it's always awesome remember for seeing her in the sixth sense. Emily Watson of course has been in so many things but I'll never forget her being in one of my favorite movies equilibrium with Christian Bale. Overall I can't wait for episode two

Travis Fimmel plays pretty much the same character in the HBO series Raised By Wolves. Which is basically just Sci-fi Ragnar. Dude's got a ton of range...

The first half of Episode 1 had me worried but the second act sold me on the series. Can't say if my interest will hold but for now, I want to see more.

Great way to characterize the roles that Travis plays, a rough guy with a broader wisdom. I’m intrigued by the adversary Desmond will play against the Sisters, especially since males generally don’t have these extra human abilities. The show is very interesting and I’m excited to see where it’s going.

Thanks for this video I am real glad KZbin recommended your channel! Im a Dune fan for nearly 50 years and I thought the show was good but not great. I’ve read all the Frank Herbert authored books. If you have not read them I strongly recommend the first three, but 2 and 3 have a different less action-driven vibe than the first. but I think they are great if you love the setting and philosophical/psychological elements. I thought the show was good but not great. high points for loyalty to the world of Dune while being original and artistic design. (It is based in Brian Herbert books but I have not read those.) I agree that Travis Fimmel is always Ragnar, but always fascinating too. Like in Raised By Wolves. Thanks again for this video and channel and I look forward to more!

I think it was a decent setup at this point. I forgot about when Kasha the truthsayer was watching Desmond Hart. He must have planted something in her mind at that time. Definitely curious to see where the story goes.

The Corrino dynasty is still on shaky ground. Depending on circumstances, an Imperium requires time and wealth (the spice) to achieve stability. Everyone important making a play for the crown obviously contributes to the shakiness.

Cinematography is awesome and it stood out to me first the pool reflection at the sisterhood was so delicious to me, as for Desmond I think it's some mix of chemistry and technology Tleilax (ghola) perhaps his right eye might be an implant which can activate the reaction his face had some deep scars mabye it had to be replaced? his right eye looks a "little"different from left i think he infected Kasha with the glance he gave her...when Valya using the voice making the water ripple was exciting to see as more of an effect!!

You should read all of the Frank Herbert Dune books but skip most if not all of the Brian Herbert books.

Although God Emperor is pretty awful, I suppose it's kinda necessary to enjoy Heretics and Chapterhouse which tell a great story.

Some of the acting from the young actors throw me right out of the experience. I don't think 10K years in the past the tech would be so close to the tech and looks and so on if you look at how humans change. Anyways it's ok. I don't feel as connected as I'd like.

The correct term is "pyrokinesis" and I am really hoping that it is tech-based (a type of poison or even timed nanobots). Pyrokinesis doesn't really fit in the Dune universe. If it is tech based, or even a controlled virus, that could be a way to introduce the Ixians and the Tleilaxu into the picture. The Ixians are master technologists and the Tleilaxu are masters of bioengineering.

Witches vs Vikings with the empire as the stakes😅 I'm enjoying it here they've set up alot of political intrigue and back stabbing set up for the show which IS Hebert Dune series main story. Now they just have to deliver the plots and counterplots in a pleasurable way.

I know. He's Ragnarok in everything. But it does work here. What doesn't is the CW vibe from the teen actors. Do we need to see them training to fight? Show me vomiting after a failed attempt at using the voice, SHOW ME SOMETHIN! If it's gonna be 6 episodes, it needed to be 90 mins. Let the girl make a few more faces before we're stuck with the wise old lady. 😒
