Same to you mate. That is I hope you had a great Christmas!

"... it hasn't completely ruined your save...happens all the time" This is absolutely false. I know a bit about modding NMS and I've broken a save file exactly once, using an unreleased mod in testing, which I was able to recover with a save editor. I think it's a bit irresponsible to make people afraid of mods in this way. Mods *will* break with most updates, but they won't, in 99.9999% of cases, break your save file. You should definitely back-up your save before modding, but people shouldn't be expecting a save-breaking bug connected to mods. As to the main point, I seriously doubt HG will ever allow any official mods on any platform. There are a ton of variables involved, but I'm sure IP and content oversight are high up on the list, combined with update compatibility. It's just not something that is reasonable for a studio of their size with updates of their frequency, let alone across all the platforms they service.

Merry Christmas to all. It must be tough for modders of NMS, hello games is ALWAYS doing ...something. Yeah Bethesda breaks stuff but they only go and do...something every couple of years.I'm a pc er ,GOTTA have my fallout 4 and Skyrim mods.

Modders that just dip in often disappear after a few months. Those that remain just accept that they have to keep their crap updated constantly.

Would be cool but… Mods were never on the table for this game so there isn’t really any support from HG for them so no is the short answer. The way Sony and Xbox view and limit mods is another good reason to not have them. I use mods in games on console but they are baked into the game and linked to a site etc, they still have to pass the tests by Sony and Xbox which drags after updates. Have a great new year all 🖖

That would be nice having mods for consoles since not everyone has a gaming PC and by extension not having access to mods and besides there's no way to jailbreak a console using a game mod since ain't no way PlayStation or Microsoft would allow mods that changes the game scripts to change the consoles files If you want a example of console mods being used just look at Skyrim and fallout 4 both of them are in the latest consoles and you are able to use mods •>•

I use mods on the pc, another reason why consoles wouldn't run mods well is due to the game structure and performance of said system. I've been modding games for years on the pc,most of the Bethesda's games along with mass effect also. Why I play on the pc
@hybrid9mm2 күн бұрын
Mods work fine on console when baked into the game (structure solved), performance isn’t an issue as long as you follow the same rules as pc (load order, don’t change to much, don’t have to many etc etc). Fallout and Skyrim have had mods on console as long as pc, not as lude and plentiful but there nonetheless. Is pc better of course but consoles are far more capable than pc players realise due to pc players never having the need of one.

@hybrid9mm I understand that consoles have some mods,yes they work but a console can't run mod lists like lorerim and consoles have mod space limits,lorerim list is around 500 gigs of space and has over 3,500 mods in it so yeah consoles have some mods but can't run important mods such as SKSE (Skyrim script extender)

Mods??!! On the consoles The MULTIPLAYER ON NMS IS TRASH ON CONSOLE DaMm CAN A MOD FIX THAT
@biertjebommetje47353 күн бұрын
i think mods will destroy consles as consoles are not that strong as pc butt if nms intergrades mods the game that it can be done in a extra menu for consoles so the user of the console can select or deslect mods so then the game olso needs the be able to warn aboute outdated mods very good idea

Consoles are PCs with a proprietary operating system. They have a CPU and GPUs and are as 'powerful' as a PC with equivalent hardware. The PS5 actually puts most people's PC to shame. They could handle mods same as any PC. Its just that Sony doesn't want to give anyone the source code to the PS operating system. A gaming console is meant for just gaming. You don't need to get into the registry or fiddle with BIOS settings or anything. So you can't. If Sony or xBox were to give modders access, there would be a patch you could get that same day that made all the games in sthe store free. 😂

@@gwoody4003 Bethnet's mod system for xbox and playstation seems to work quite well, albeit with less configuration or mod accessibility than PC modding
@blackdadgaming69442 күн бұрын
So i guess no one plays any Bethesda games they allow mods on consoles. Hell even the Farming Simulator franchise lets you mod on consoles. Consoles just restrict the use of script mods (developer type), the ones that change the games mechanics. Also, multi player the way nms does it wouldn't allow for use of mods. They would have to separate single and multi player.

Mods allow consoles to be exploited, CFW'd/Jailbreak etc... Coders are always looking for ways into a new system.

@@keiko431 That's a bit different, but it has happened with Bethnet. Bethesda net uses a repository to allow mods on console, once uploaded they are scanned, similarly to nexusmods. If a file cannot be scanned, or for some reason code cannot be accounted for within said file for ANY reason, bethesda net will not allow publishing
