Brings back memories of my granddad and dad. grinding corn and peanut hay. The cows looked better in the winter than the summer. Until next time

Hey 👋 Mr. Patrick, you definitely could start a commercial stock feeding business. You can grow anything and everything you need to make the feed for any critter out there. Throw your hat in the ring. Florida hollerin!

That was very interesting. I buy my hog feed from a local farmer and I think he has a sizable business grinding feed. I like getting it local, and much fresher.

I don’t know if farmers do that here or not , they grow cotton here so they might . The farmer worked for years ago in the 70s grew corn and would call the local milling company and they had a truck come out with a machine that would take his corn and grind up a sweet feed for him to feed his cows . He only had two or three that he raised for his own meat .

I'm curious, what is the protein and energy level in that mix? I admit to be a bit of a detail nerd, especially with rations. My Dad taught me how to figure them and balance them out, and I am always curious about how others do theirs. I totally get putting the cottonseed in the back hopper, it seems to have more value whole. I think I have heard that you can't use it to feed breeding bulls because of gossypol content and sterility issues, but I may be mistaken. Great video, AGAIN!👍👍

Good stuff, I enjoy watching making cow feed, they will be some happy cows especially during this cold snap, how often do you check your cows during the summer while your planting, and how often during the winter?
@PatrickShivers11 сағат бұрын
@@JB-rs3gi no set schedule. I see them every time they empty the hay trailer (I can see it without going to the pasture) in the winter. I spend very little time with them in the summer, just make sure they don’t run out of grass.

Hey Patrick! I would like to come get some feed from you for my Kiko goats. I am located in Terrell County.

As you know Patrick, we don't have cotton in Indiana,so I know NOTHING about cottonseed. I do wonder though, why you didn't grind it to get the seed exposed for better digestion, any word on that?

@@57fitter not seen in the video, I actually do put some in the corn in feed auger instead of just putting all of it in the mineral in feed auger. I don’t run all of it through the grinder b/c the grinder very much dislikes it. It is very oily and causes the machine to whine and lull when attempting to grind.
