Do marathon runners run multiple marathons in the run-up to it? No
@dp2120
@dp2120 Жыл бұрын
They do actually lol they run way more miles than a marathon leading up to it, then taper off a bit in the week before. The world's best marathoner - Eliud Kichoge - ran 113 miles (more than 4x a marathon) in the week before the Berlin Marathon.
@endah08

@@dp2120 News to me. In a week they might run significantly more than a marathon in the course of a week. But generally speaking they're not running full marathons regularly in the runup to competition.

@@endah08 They run a consecutive 20 miles at least once a week during the heart of their training and then start to taper back with 2-3 weeks of the marathon itself. So like longest run 3 weeks out would decrease from 20 to 15 for example.

This is going to sound crazy but I want y’all to hear me out. If Kawhi is going to breakdown come postseason time anyway I’d rather ride him all season to get me the best record possible to set me up for a easier postseason journey that we will unfortunately almost inevitably go through without him. I think a healthy PG and Russ can make a run if they’re seeing the 7th/8th seeds in the 1st round and so on and so forth

Facts! It makes more sense to get the most of Kawhi to get a better seeding then when he breaks down mid season. Your team is never operating under the myth that Kawhi will come back. Your whole knows ok boom Kawhi gave us a 40 game boost now we can ride out from here.

The Clippers biggest issue isn’t that Kawhi always gets hurt or load manages it’s that he does both while on a super max contract so he takes up a large chunk of cap space and he is physically unreliable. It’s a pointless roster spot.

10:06 Mars asking if he was in shape going into the playoffssss. You cant be in playoff shape if you haven't played in the season. Game shape isn't the same as being in shape to go work out, there completely different. The body needs to time to adapt to the unpredictable situations that happens in a game hence why they have a preseason and why load management isn't always the best option for players. I believe its working against players because there being thrown into games after sitting and not practicing at full speed and then required to play at a high tempo which they haven't adapted to because they have been sitting too long. Kawhi is a great talent but he cant use a whole season by sitting most of it out to play in the playoffs. When the competition is really in top tier mode and all engines are rolling. We will see him do his thing but it wont be consistent. Unfortunately now he has another torn meniscus which i am pretty sure happen from movements he hasn't done in a while on knees that haven't been given the tolerance to do that.

Both have had serious and close to career changing injuries, yeah he played but was he able to go carry the Nets that year? He played an avg 44 mins in the series, but was only good for an avg of 26pts his second lowest since okc. No help understood but when Tatum (76 games that season played) was hounding him he couldnt find a way to get over that. No player plays 82 games unless you're a role player. LeBron only played 82 once in his career. You people are capping left and right. Where's this same energy for Durant. Players get hurt and be out just as much if not more than Kawhi. Durant's last 4 years: (19-20) Out with Achilles (20-21) 35/82 (21-22) 55/82 (22-23) 47/82 Kawhi Last 4 Years: (19-20) 57/82 (20-21) 52/82 (21-22) Out with ACL (22-23) 52/82

Mars is straight up wrong, you gotta play to have your body ready for playing. The more you don't the more you're at risk when you go extended time in spurts. Load managing is bs. With kawhi as injury prone as he is at this point, and coupled with another injury prone guy in pg, it's a waste of money and roster space for the clips to have him.

@@MarzTalksSports would you agree that we still take some degree of risking death anyway in our daily lives even if we know there's danger in the world? You can accept the risk of death and simply live your life despite the inevitability of death. What you're saying isn't wrong per se but neither is Chill with regards to how it should be looked at from a Clippers perspective. Load management isn't fool proof in Kawhi's case specifically. Ticket is just terrible at making this point. What really skews the conversation is the fact that he's being used as the face of load management as if he's the only player who uses it. There's plenty enough examples to justify and legitimate its use.
