Malaysian durians are top in the world. Durian comes from malay word duri. Meaning thorn.

It is not only waiting for it to ripen and drop, we hv many variety to eat. Yummy. So no other countries in South east asia can match up. Not vietnam , not philippines, not indonesia, and not thai.

no worries on which variant you prefer, thats the beauty of msian durians. theres actually a lot more you can try. If you happened to visit Borneo Sarawak try their kampung durian called 'Isu'. and yes you are absolutely right about the difference of taste between msian durians and others. the taste of them ripening naturally on trees is incomparable.

Reading your comment just made us want durian again😋. We will be going to Sabah. Hopefully they have the Isu there 🤞

Welcome to Malaysia. I think liking Durian is an acquired taste, it grows on you the more you try it, and eventually you will be addicted to it hahaha
@activityenthusiasts Жыл бұрын
We can see that! Already wanting to try more varieties 😋
@choyjoonkit Жыл бұрын
sometimes I feel that durian is not an acquired taste, just other country messing it up by plucking it before it ripes. xD

the best part about durians is that the flavour profile makes it the key to your preference hence imho not one can be better than the other. i mean yes, musang king is the sweetest and creamiest and has the most velvet texture in my book, but because it is so, you cant have too much of it (kinda like having too much caramel).. i'd rather go sometimes with something milder and less potent like red prawn or my personal favourite XO-- yes the one that taste like as if there's alcohol in it. XD

Totally agree that it’s a matter of personal preference. It still is amazing to us that there is such a difference in taste between the different varieties. We’ll have to try them all before we choose a favourite!

Glad you enjoyed Durian. Those who are repulsed by durian basically has alot of psychological preconditioning. In another word, narrow minded, brainwashed, prejudiced. But like or dislike are just personal taste preference.
@activityenthusiasts3 ай бұрын
I think it’s a texture thing for a lot of people. It’s very different from other foods. All we know is that we are glad we gave it a fair chance and can’t wait to come back for more! 😋

A durian taste like durian! Each variety taste like the variety! I dont understand why westerners keep trying to associate durian taste with other food. It just does not make sense! Why does it taste weird? What is weird or not weird? Durian taste like durian!!!!!!!

Can’t argue with that!

@@activityenthusiasts it is the most healthiest fruit with a lot of minerals. However, eat with moderation. Your body heat can rise, so we can drink herbal juice to cool off like coconut water, longan water etc etc.

@@activityenthusiasts I can eat 2 big fruits by myself. What you ate are pulps of a few varieties
