Elaborating upon the multiple benefits that will accrue from a bullet train, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that it will help in decongestion and fasten the pace of urbanization. He was speaking at an event titled ‘India's Vishwabandhu Approach to Global Relations’ at the Constitution Club in Mumbai on Monday. Addressing the event, Jaishankar said, "Piyush Goyal and I worked on and a few years ago we decided that we will work with Japan on the bullet train...people think what is special in a bullet train, it is just a train, it will go a little bit faster."

Just because you won't use it doesn't mean anyone else won't use it. The ticket price argument is essentially a low IQ donkey argument. China has 40k km bullet train and they heavily subsidized it because of which it is loss making. Thats a conscious decision, every cent of profit you make from these kind of projects is NOT worth the decrease in ridership/usage. The benefits to nation's economy far outweighs the profit earned on ticket prices. Letting go of 1 rs profit in ticket translates into 10rs profit for the economy.

If it is affordable it will be a huge win but imagine if the cost is something like near a domestic flight. and parallel lines to different parts is vital for it be become mass transit. my opinion is make existing fleet of trains to be better efficient on time more frequency in busier lines and factor in the price for the bullet train with more fleets in the existing lines and its expansion would cater to the mass rather than a certain group of individuals thats my opinion.

Bullet trains reduce the air travel between sub 500KM distance cities which decreases air pollution and saves lot of Foreign reserves. Further industries and housing cities can be developed with a radius of 100KMs. The following routes must be developed before 2047 to become Developed Nation. 1. Mumbai - Ahmedabad 2. Ahmedabad - Delhi 3. Chennai - Bengaluru 4. Hyderabad - Nagpur - Mumbai 5. Hyderabad -Vijaayawada - visakhapatnam 6. Hyderabad - Bengaluru 7. Chennai - Visakhapatnam 8. Visakhapatnam - Calcutta. 9. Delhi - Varanasi - patna -Calcutta. 10. Manguluru - Trivendrum 11. Bengaluru - Manguluru ( I don't know whether the western Ghats suitble for bullet train project)

Yes we do need faster trains like vande bharat to cut time at reasonable price but bullet trains are very expensive to build and operate and will be much higher price than vande bharat. Vande bharat can commercialise relatively easy as they use same tracks as older ones but bullet trains are on whole new level. Only rich class might afford bullet trains don't you think? 🤔

15-20 saal baad bullet train will be like metro. Jitaa jaldi modern tech me we will invest the better and the tech wil become cheaper over the period of time. Same is with Manufacturing as well. Once infra is ready you dont have to think about these things. You can create more smart cities around metro cities as commute time will decrease. Airports/highways/bullet train/metro would shorten the distances but dhruv rathee jaise C/ congress ko kaun samjhaye. UPI dekho log kitaa jaldi use karne lag gye. Digitalization happened at such a faster pace. Still remember paise nikalne Atm jaate the line me lagte ya atm me paisa nai/ card kho gya you are saving so much hassles/time with just using UPI. Change ke liye shop pe jaake maagne padta tha idher uder. So we need technological advancements to make our life easier/ boost productivity. Those who are against it should be left to trash.

We need high speed trains. But that technology should be developed in India. Just importing the tech is of no use. Why it would take time to develop it locally.? High speed train technology is not new, its almost 70 years old. High speed trains for daily commute, is not a feasible solution in country with low income.

He must visit Mumbai local trains and watch how peoples r traveling before bringing bullet train whose maintenance cost is much higher & its not affordable to comnon peoples government must 1st improve current train conditions atleast replace local trains with train like vande Bharat
