Story 26 - I agree with the guy who wouldn’t change seats. You should never have to sit in a seat other than the one you paid for. The families should’ve booked their seats together if they wanted to all be together

You do have the right to stay in the assigned seat, and yeah it can be annoying, but some people are so unnecessarily rude about it. And this was one of those people.

I once watched a woman walk into a pull door after yelling at a cashier because she got her order wrong. Not the cashier, she herself got her own order wrong. After she realized what she did instead of asking for a correction she just let them fill the order and then went “actually when I said I wanted x I actually meant y.” Not extreme but her frustration and embarrassment was funny as hell.

I was stuck on the interstate in one of the worst traffic jams I had ever been in, all four lanes completely stopped along with the feeder road. At some point, some a-hole in a lifted pickup decided to force his way out from the innermost lane. He didn't quite go full monster truck in his attempt, but he did intentionally damage quite a few cars (thankfully only engines and trunks, but still). I happened to be in the outermost lane, just behind the car that he drove over, so I had nearly as close of a seat as I could get. I watched him finish smashing his way off the interstate and enter the grassy space that separated the feeder from the interstate. Evidently, he couldn't have seen that the spot he chose to try to cross was not exactly the best for him, though in what little defense could be given to him, no one, me included, really could have known because of how tall and thick the grass was. As he reached the midpoint of the space, his front passenger wheel suddenly dipped (the entire midline of the space dips down, but this spot happened to be a bigger dip). There was an audible crunch, even over his "enhanced" exhaust, followed by the entire wheel, along with stuff like the brake pad, just falling off. That alone was enough to leave me with quite the side pains, which came from the hardest laughter I had given in a very long time. Out of curiosity, is there a term for whatever is beyond schadenfreude? Oh, it gets better, though I didn't get to see all of this directly. After making several attempts to try to force his truck past the midline, he gave up, got out, and I guess decided to try to figure out what he could do to get past it. He made his way around his truck, and once he saw that his whole wheel was off, he lost it. Of course, no one was coming over to him, and really, why would they after his behavior earlier? After venting over his wheel, he eventually got back into his truck, though what exactly he was doing, I have no idea, because at this point, after sitting in that jam for over an hour, it finally started moving again (mind you, it was not moving fast at all, but it was now moving, just at slower-than-walking speeds), so I was finally on my way again. After I had made my way past the a-hole, at some point, I decided to check my rearview. Traffic, while moving again, was still going slow, so I thought that maybe I could catch if there was anything else going on back there. To my surprise, there was a lot of black smoke in the mirror, and from what I could tell, it was coming from where that truck was. I didn't get all of the details, but from what others could tell, the guy's engine and exhaust had gotten into a lot of direct contact with this tall, thick, and _very_ dry grass. Yup, his truck had essentially set itself on fire. As far as I know, the a-hole was not caught at all in the flames and thus was unharmed, from the flames at least (for the record, I don't know if anyone decided to add to the instant karma for him). Even so, his truck was a total loss, and that has been the only time I can think of where a sizable grass fire next to the interstate was a small price to pay for some instant karma.

Just thelis past weekend, on a rural stretch of the interstate that's only 2 lanes, the holiday traffic was heavy but moving at a good pace. In the left lane, there's some red and blue lights along with flashing headlights. Looks like a cop car in the distance. Everyone moves over to let them through. As they pass, I noticed that it was clearly not a cop car, but a regular car impersonating a cop and trying to get through traffic. I just looked at my wife and said wow. About a mile later, a state trooper is on the side of the road finishing a traffic stop and joins the traffic. I can see he made a call as he's talking while driving. Then speeds off ahead. He waited until the highway became 3 lanes before pulling over the impersonator.

From what i can tell he was being a responsible dog owner and probably knew what he was doing. We also don't know the conditions of the day, it could have been a nice spring day with cool tempers or a winter day with coats. But my point is there was airflow, the dog had water, and if it was me and my dog I probably wouldn't have been in the store long with my dog in the car even if they had water. Most of the time dogs die in cars due to a couple factors. 1. its hot 2 the windows are sealed which will spike the temps even more and 3 the dogs is left there for a long period of time. With all those factors the animal easily dies of heat stroke, anyone who loves their pet as much as this guys would never leave them in the car for a long time with sealed windows in the heat. I am a dog lover btw and know that there are dogs who hate cars and ones who love them. My old man for example, he loved car rides. One time after moving my friend left his car door open while we were unloading stuff from it and left the front door open, at the time our storm door was forced open and the front door was the only thing keeping my half blind old man in the house. When I realized he was missing I freaked out because this was my best friend of fifteen years. Luckily my friend remembered me off handed mentioning my dog loving car rides and went to check his car. Sure enough there he was sitting on the passenger floorboard waiting for a car ride. The relief I felt when I saw him sitting there was so real.

Yeah, did they mention what time of year it was? If it was early spring for example then I don't think leaving the dog in the car for a few minutes would be bad, but if it was the middle of summer that could be very dangerous.

Was sitting in a turn lane, waiting for the light to change one night driving home after work. Car behind me decides he doesn’t wanna wait, goes around me and takes the left. About ten seconds later, cop car pulls up next to me and takes a look at me before going after the guy that went around me. About three blocks down the road I see him pulled over in a parking lot. I start cracking up.

Have you ever been to LA? NYC? No? London? Those places literally have such bad traffic you practically have to use transit to gett anywhere. And I've been two out of the three places. You meet some wild people on public transit. Just because you haven't ventured much beyond your basement apartment doesn't mean hollywood actors and talent scouts only exist in a vacuum pocket dimension unless summoned by the imperious thoughts of hollywood execs.
