Cloth can be good if it's done right. I collect the figure rise standard model kits. Not quite as articulated, but Piccolo comes with a special beam cannon effect and extra parts for his son. If you can paint match the light grey of the plastic cape, you can try lightly drybrushing the cloth goods cape.

I like cloth better,. Two reasons one is, cloth with the wire inside is more poseable. Two is the hard plastic weighs the figure down, and will keep falling over. At least it has to mine. DC black fire from teen titans was made in 2006 if I remember correctly. Anyway with her stand, and different stands I've tried, she will not! stop falling off my shelf.

To "dirty" something up, especially cloth, I've found a small dab of powder foundation makeup and a q-tip go a long way.

I actually really like the combination of the hard plastic for the shoulders and the cloth for the rest of the cape. To me the cloth for the shoulders etc just looks a little cheap and you can't get all the details in those areas that you can with plastic.

I've looked on Reddit to see if anyone has successfully removed Piccolo's lipstick, and still haven't found any solutions. Sounds like WWE Figure Collectors have some tutorials on how to use clear nail polish, or (100% Acetone) nail polish remover to remove tattoos off their wrestlers. Stuff is pretty strong, so have to be careful. Haven't built up the courage yet to give it a try on an SHFiguarts.
