ish 1000 player one genuinely got me in the feels. so many players wanted to do good, but some did it in the wrong way. and then the wars aftermath was devastating, leaving an entire people few and far between due to a genocide of the snow people after the battle. As someone who is a total outsider to all of this, and just enjoyed the stories in this genre of video, Turkey’s character in the ish video was amazing to watch, you never really knew what his motivations truly were, even at the end. Despite the admiration of everyone that he met and many calls for him to be crowned, he himself appeared to have no ambition to revolt against Elanuelo, only suggestions for reform. Whether he enjoyed simply being the face of Aculon to all, or aimed to use his position and relations to usurp the throne, it was never clear, as he would both proclaim loyalty to Elanuelo when speaking to outside nations, and disobey orders Elanuelo gave when he was on domestic soil in the name of Aculon. Even in his last words, he both obeyed Elanuelo and refused to pull a sword against him, and yet also remained sitting on the throne, and did not leave it, as he spoke these same words. At the end of it all, Turkey received a statue in his honour, but for what? His idea of a more democratic Aculon, likely a constitutional monarchy, was misconstrued by both sides as a call to depose the monarchy, a fatal misinterpretation which led to his own death. He did not desire Elanuelo’s death, nor the death of his people, as he took great care to enforce the rule of Elanuelo and also break it to save the lives of dissenters and innocents, but his death would lead to even more bloodshed in Aculon ground. In the end, Turkey was a great man who explored around the world and met with so many people, with the aim of making his nation a better place. But, his ideals and actions led him to be used as a _casus belli_ for all the nations around him, propped up as the face and of the revolution in death, just as he was the face of Aculon in life. (PS: this interpretation of Turkey’s character was what I got from when I watched the video, so I apologize for any libel haha. I watched it three times, it’s just that good of a video!)

I know magic gum uses mods but it feels more Minecrafty and blends in more then swords and silvers where it feels too out of place

Personally, I find civilization events that give the most freedom to the players the most enjoyable. When a civilization event is given too many objectives and incentives for the nations to fight each other, it often turns into a glorified team deathmatch rather than a proper civilization simulation. Politics and drama doesn't really happen if everyone starts killing each other immediately.

Ish is the best story teller but based on his process (according to his Livestream), he sometimes fabricates the way things happen to be more dramatic Magic doesn't focus on storytelling as much as Ish and is more experimental but I think his videos tend to be more comedic (like the way his editors add little jokes and stuff) Silver, among the 3, is probably the weakest in terms of actual civilizations but I think his latest "challenge videos" are where he shines because he's more involved/actually one of the players Among the 3, I'd say Magic is my number 1 just cuz I like his humor and his story, though maybe not as high quality as Ish, are still pretty top notch

I think that seeing how common civilization videos are, a lot of them feel the same, with the events being the same. Almost all of the civilization videos I watched had a build event. That's why I liked ish's video so much. It didn't have events, but it didn't stray too far from the original idea, it didn't even force the players into factions, which I really enjoyed.

Ryan not brain should have been added at least as an honorable mention. He has the best world building I have seen in a minecraft civilization video and his voice and his nareating style is really effective at keeping you immersed in. The only real issue I have is that he tends to have a very black and white narrative of one good side with no flaws at all agaisnt a sometime needlessly cruel side which isn’t really realistic as historically there has never been any good or evil empires (beside the Nazis and Japanese but even then it depends on perspective).

The problem with Ish's video is that the last fight was forced to an extent. There were some people in the desert that didn't care about that war at all but were still forced to take part in it if they wanted to attack their enemy, Theria. (according to a video made by one of the people in the desert)

Ish's video was so good. Considering the fact the Sultanate was back and Wozzock's plan to stop the war was just shocking! The allies were one of the best players in the civilization on my opinion. Despite the character development, the graphics and story arc was the best.

I knew that ish's newest video would be his best so far. Maybe i should give him an astounding 90/100 for doing an amazing job of making the atmosphere entertaining and on the plot. Maybe some minor tweaking and adjustments to the story and give some people the freedom to tell their own tale will be good for his unique style of plot. Anyways, kudos to the one and only ish!

I like Jjkay mostly because his is more akin to an experiment rather than a narrative story, which Ish and sword tend to lean towards. As such, the characters seem more human, as in less like a character scripted in a movie if at all. Some of the events in ish’s seem somewhat forced, like the whole Afreakingturkey death encounter up to the final battle. As I feel other players on both sides would be more ingenious in their plans rather than be stuck in a tower with no safe way down if they lose/ want to flee or attacking said tower head on with equal chance of death if they get knocked off on the climb up. Either way, both are good videos. One is a great narrative piece (somewhat akin to improv writing), and the other is a pretty good social ‘experiment’, for a lack of a better term. Great review video. 10/10, would recommend.

Ish's main boon has to be twofold. Partially, those playing in the video are expected to an extent to role play almost, amp up emotions and conflicts. This makes the characters interesting and unique. Secondly, his music. The use and reuse of certain pieces to symbolise events, and the integration is what puts his videos above many else

As a builder for Ish id say he treats us well, just not really active with the community leaving video events mostly his time to shine imo. Like besides that its a very professional enviroment working for him and such, for when he does need help with the video events or structural things adding more to a videos tension. Most of us builders even get to play as a perk and you're not forced to work being we're so many fantastic builders. Id give him 89/100 sweaty minecrafters

Ish's video is the best one for me. It was AMAZING. I was so invested in the story, the drama, the tensions, characters. Full of drama, friendships, betrayals, plot twists, villains. I never stopped being curious and fearing of what will happen next. I was sitting at the back of my seat throught out the entire video to the end. And rooting for the good guys to win. It showed what we humans really can do if we all unite together. It truly felt like a movie. It was a very fun experience.

Well in relative terms there are two types of civilization experiments: Ones with stories and ones without stories. I believe that Ish’s recent 1000 Player Civilization video is the best Civilization video with a story. However I feel the best civilization video without a story is 100p’s Desperation experiment, if you haven’t seen it go watch it.
