One thing to remember is that this doesn't necessarily mean that it's better to live in a certain country. I remember someone saying that they met people who moved from Norway to the US, and when asked why since Norway so much better they simply responded "if Norway was that much better we wouldn't have left".

As a Singaporean, I am a little taken aback that we'd be that high on the global scale. But after thoughtful analysis, I can't help but agree to a certain extent. If what you want is a good paying job, top notch Cambridge certified Education for you and your kids, safety and security, Great and affordable healthcare, good food, comfort, convenience, political stability, business opportunities and a kind, caring and friendly neighborhood then this is it. (Basically the bare necessities that give an acceptable level of comfort). Singapore through its short life of 57 years has grown tremendously to unprecedented standards by the old generation. You can now live your life, following the law knowing that it has taken care of your needs to a ripful old age of 86-100 years old without stepping out of South East Asia. This is a community where if all you wanted is to live a peaceful life, this is the haven. There's a lot I can say about my country, but it would make this list too long and may give a false impression that Singapore is perfect which it ofc isn't, there are still numerous flaws and problems that are being tackled on the daily, some even outrageously shameful. i love singapore, im singaporean too. however, i feel that some laws are unnecessarily strict. and some of the consequences are a bit unnecessary in my opinion, let me give an example. if a child under 10 commits a crime in singapore, they can be given a curfew, which means they cannot be in any public place from 9pm to 6am. its quite reasonable if you think about it, but theyre just kids. they might not have known what they were doing.

Most "developed" country in North America is not Canada. I'm curious how they found that number, how are they defining "developed". Most of Canada is vast wilderness while most of the US is at the very least inhabited or farmland, that's what "developed" means.

You were under Soviet occupation. Lithuania is a very nice country. I actually think Vilnius and Tallin are the 2 most underrated cities in Europe to visit. Vilnius definitely has a good buzz going for it.
