I just moved to Houston, TX from Toronto, ON and recently got back into the sport after seeing how many paintball fields there were in the Greater Houston Area. Makes sense that there would be a big scene in Austin. Coming from Toronto, the paintball scene here has unfortunately nosedived pretty hard over the past decade. I started playing in 1999, and up until about 2016 there were about 7 fields in the city that my friends and I would frequent. Now there is only 1. Part of me wants to blame the pandemic, but the reality is just that Toronto real estate has skyrocketed so much that its more appealing to sell their property/shut down, rather than trying to sustain the property value/lease by jacking up admissions/field paint. As someone who recently moved to Texas due to house affordability, I know my decision as well as a bunch of others will cause property value to jump in TX. I just hope that Texas doesn't become a repeat of Ontario for me where paintball fields anywhere remotely close to metro areas go the way of the dinosaur.

11:34 watch the left camera. Matt is running towards the other player. The other player shoots him over the bunker twice. Matt then goes around the bunker and shoot him in the leg. When you watch it really quick, it looks like they traded when he’s rounds the corner, but when you pause it in slow it down, you can see the other guy shot him at least twice over the top before he even went around the bunker

They sad thing is it looked the ref didn’t even know what was going on until the snake player yelled at Matt and the refs. After slowing it down to .25 he got 2 shots on Matt but on normal speed it happens so fast most people don’t even realize they’re hit till it’s to late

I dont play NXL or something hard like this, but i know little how the rules work, BUT how tf the player with a hit on the Pod in his Battlepack should have known that he got hit, and got minor penalty? I think that is unfair... The refs are not only there to hand out penaltys, he could only just pull the player with a hit out of the game, or am i wrong here?
