Concur with your evaluation. I’ve got an old fs110 that I kept breaking doing heavy brush clearing with a blade. Upgraded to the 240 and it lives with the blade on it. In THAT role it’s perfect. My 110 lives happily running a string trimmer head. Right tool for the job. Why carry an extra 5 lbs cutting light grass?

I’m looking to buy the 94 soon because of its light weight. I always have a stihl fs91 and a echo srm225 on my trailer and I use the echo 95% of time because it’s 2 pounds lighter. Doesn’t sounds like a big difference but at the end of the day you definitely feel it.

The 94R is awesome. The SRM 2320T~$100.00 cheaper is you want a commercial echo in that range. The T model has a 2:1 ratio and helps that smaller engine from bogging. I’d stay with the 94R but if you needed a cheaper option that’s still built for business the 2320T is a good choice.

Yeah I love the 94s they're awesome. For overgrown stuff my 91R is great too. So much torque and not much extra weight

If I was you, if doing regular schedules or normal daily on residential and commercial properties such as maintenance yard then 94r if heavy clean up or super overgrown then fs240R.

I regret getting my fs94r, i much prefer my 131r. The fs94r is too underpowered for anything other then weekly lawns. The 131r can be feathered down to do weekly lawns and can also do the hard stuff. Weighs the same as the fs91r and has twice the power. I cant imagine many situations where the fs240 would be needed, its just overkill and weighs too much for most situations.

The 240 may be “overkill” but you wont understand unless you pull it out in a field with bushes and saplings with the cutting blade on it. it is just absolutely fantastic

Does anyone know the difference between the fs70 vs the fs94??? I looked at the specs and they’re pretty much identical

94 has anti vibration, easy start, throttle limiter, weighs slightly less

Th 94r? That sucks man what problems have you had? Apparently the husqvana 525lst is a good trimmer, if I have trouble with my 94 I'm going to try it

@@jarrod1687 yeah the 94r. It doesn’t start once it gets hot. It’ll start fine on the first lawn of the day but after that I have a real hard time starting it up. I took it to the shop and they said they fixed the problem but they didn’t. Well on 2nd thought they probably did fix it but honesty I think that trimmer is just garbage. The only reason why I still have it is because of how light it is.

That's vapor lock man, you have to crack the fuel cap and retighten it, give that a try. Stihl really fuked up not having a breather

I can’t believe that you do not turn those factory handles upside down for edging. They are useless where they are now because you have the Darwins grip. Spin them upside down and you have a great agent handle. I made a short video about it.

Wow I have never seen the FS94R in my 13yrs. I wasn't really looking though. But hey I bet this would make an awesome hedge trimmer with that cruse control !!! I am constantly trying to keep my hedge trimmer at half throttle when trimming. It is definitely a pain when using it overhead. Drives me nuts to hear that rev limiter constanly sputtering 🤯

I have 4 94r and the main thing I dont like is the starting panels are plastic and seem to need changed quite often. Other then that they are great!

The Stihl FS94R is the second best gas trimmer I've ever seen / used. The best is the commercial Husqvarna 525LST. The 525LST weighs slightly less and is slightly more powerful than the FS94R. If you try them both you too will see.

Husqvarna commercial models degraded in quality ever since they started selling in big box stores. The same happened with echo and a lot of dealers stopped carrying them for that reason. Dealer only power equipment brands will always be the best. Red max and stihl are examples of that.

Husqvarna is like echo. Their commercial models went down in quality ever since they started selling them in big box stores which is why a lot of dealers stopped selling them. Quality and control and focal point changes when you get into the big box store market. Sorry.

Yeah, I bet that 240R is a bit on the bulky side for everyday trimming. We run 91R and 90R. I really wish I had a 94R nearby to try out. I do like the 4mix Stihls, but that 94R looks like a winner too.

The 94r is okay. If it had a little more power it be the best weed whacker. I do lots of different kinds of properties and the 94r is good for light grass but those properties that grow heavy heavy from the start of the season and even past 4th of July and into August it still has a hard time cutting it. It's perfect for residential property and big condo/town areas where there lots of edging and flat trimming. But you get into heavy areas in bigger residential/commercial it's trash and bog's down hard when flat trimming. That's just my honest opinion on this piece of equipment.
