I was a ring bearer for my maternal aunt's wedding. I was four years old and not quite understanding the directions, and the adults were rather frazzled about everything going on so when I was asking for clarification one of them basically said walk the ring up the aisle, then just follow everyone's lead. I was a very literal kid. So I walk up the aisle next to the flower girl, and I wind up standing next to the groomsmen and the flower girl is over by the bridesmaids. The ceremony ends and the pastors says you may kiss the bride. So see my new uncle in a tux, my aunt in a dress, the bridesmaids in a dress and the flower girl in a matching one. So I walked over and kissed the flower girl. The whole church broke out laughing and I turned all shades of red. I upstaged my aunt on her wedding day. Needless to say, I was ribbed about that into adulthood when I would visit back east from the west coast. FWIW, I briefly meant that flower girl as an adult.
