The foundation of counteproint is practice two parts clauses on piano, where you can sing a Halleluja. This is the juice i have to tell after 15 years on this.

Knud Jeppesen s Counterpoint book is a 100 times better than Fux. And deals with the real Palestrina Style.

The best way is to write a piece, get frustrated with it, uninstall your music notation editor, throw away your instrument and just enjoy listening to Bach. 😉
