Thank you for reviewing budget rtr stuff. When I first got into rc when I was a kid my first one was an original tamiya Blackfoot when I was about 13-14 years old. I got out of the hobby for about 30 years,life just got in the way,and when I got back into the hobby a couple years ago I didn't want to spend $300-$400 on a big name right away just in case I didn't enjoy it as much as I remembered I did. Watching many rc youtubers review budget stuff got me back into the hobby. My first new rc car I bought after 30 years was a wl toys,which is awesome. I'm saving up to get a tamiya kit soon. It will be my first kit build in a very long time. Thanks again for helping old guys like me relive fantastic childhood memories and create some new ones with friends with this wonderful hobby

I enjoy watching all budgets of cars the cheap to the expensive, helps keep the hobby inclusive. The suspension on this car is a real shame otherwise it looks a good car

Some people noticed shocks can be filled with oil. They did it and the behaviour was much better. That would fix the main issue. For speed, Some youtubers discovered you can reach 60km/h using a 3S battery. The 2S provided battery is not able to deliver enough current. XLF released an update this year : X-03A MAX. With a "bigger battery" (2s 2200mAh) and a better differential. I bought 2 of them. I'm waiting for them to push one of it under the christmas tree... The other one will be for me with a big 3s battery :)

Nice vid Gav👍 I like that you are diversifying the channel and incorporating cars for a budget is a great idea and maybe it will get someone into the hobby.. As for the sloppiness in the steering🤔 the bearings looked as if they were a tad to small for the housing in the upright?? lot's of movement there, maybe some bearing fit would help? Bondloc from loctite or some other retaining compound... And definitely some oil shocks would help it out..🤣🤣

Personally I think you should look at all ends of the price spectrum. These low budget buggies/cars can appeal to a lot of folks. It's always nice to be able to get some low cost beater you can have fun with and not worry about trashing it because you spent so much money on it. I've had many low budget RC vehicles over the years that I actually had more fun with because i wasn't as worried about wrecking them since I didn't pay a whole lot for them.

I enjoyed this video review and others you have done. I think it's a good idea to review this type of r/c car. I haven't subscribed to your channel for a long time and you may have reviewed the car I am going to suggest. In my opinion one of the better low budget r/c cars is the Traxxas Bandit. It's been around forever and the design hasn't changed in a very long time. It's durable and parts are easily available. In the U.S. the price ranges for $149 to $169. It has some short comings but it's a good starter and it has become a popular drag racing platform. Keep up the good work.

Great review. I really like seeing reviews of RCs that I’ve never heard of from China. I think a fun follow up video with budget oil shocks and a larger motor with more top end would be neat. Chinese manufacturers are close to getting things right. I think in a year or so they’ll be producing real competitors.

The good things, these cheap give opportunity for most of the people to enjoy. And they really sell the product NOT brand name. we know some parts come from the factory, but put popular Brand name on it, price goes up tremendously. This X03 share the same tyre, suspension arms as XLH 9125.

Not something I would have personally as I race hpi cars. But thought it did OK to be fair. But for kids to get in to or those on a tight budget it's perfect to do up and replace parts for better.

To be fair, the nomenclature makes sense when they're churning out 4 versions of the same buggy and not wasting time on a naming it may help keep it under the radar wrt potential copyright infringements?
@RCKickschannel3 жыл бұрын
I don't think a company in China give a crap about copyright infringement. The Chinese government protects them, just look at the fake BMW, Benz, RR and so many other real cars that are made.
@TheTruthHz3 жыл бұрын
@@RCKickschannel fair point. I honestly think it's more about it being a disposable item. Run it until something breaks then bin it. Not a very sustainable attitude but I don't think I'd expect more for the money. I feel it has a place in the market and it's fun to see them having a dig at Traxxas 😉👍

How much was the import tax from China? More than half the cost of the car probably. Edit... I just looked on the site. Its £18.73 shipping to the UK. Still might get stung with import tax on top once it arrives in the UK.

You still need a trans and receiver as well as a battery and some charger with the grasshopper. Not that I’m saying a grasshopper isn’t a fantastic RC but it’s a good chunk more money.

Not a bad looking rig , considering the price . I certainly wouldnt consider it as something sought after , or collectable . However , i have no doubt , this RC would put a smile from ear to ear on a youngster just getting into the hobby or simply his or her first RC car. Then again Im a seasond hobbyist , the hobby has its claws in me pretty deep , going as far back as 1985 , that was the year i got my first RC , the iconic Hotshot , and after all those years i still have it. In the end , you dont need a expensive RC to have fun , happiness doesnt always come with a price tag. And for that reason there hasnt been a single RC that i have drove that never put a smile on my face no matter the price they are all enjoyable

Hello Gavin, I am a huge fan of your channel and like the open minded approach. There’s a lot you can do aside our beloved tamiya and kyosho buggies... What about, for instance, extending the scope to short courses? RTR or Kit. I do not have one yet but the way this kind of car moves seems quite appealing... A new piloting experience? Apparently some of them are quite realistic in their behaviour? Keep on the good work!

We’d all like to see reviews of the cheaper dozen or so pls 🙏 as some of them with a little bit more money can serve you well. We all haven’t got £2-300 to get a quality car straight away, but saying that I’ve payed £200 or so for a Tamiya kit built it and broke it 1st run!!! So there’s a huge middle ground there that no one is filling?? WLToys could of made a great 1/10 scale car for £150 that we were all waiting for and failed!! They coulda made one for £150 that would of flown out for your 1st introduction into the hobby and failed 🙈 anyway good review but another £50 on this car would of solved all the problems you’ve pointed out and we’d of had a good little 1/10 basher!! Rant over and keep up the reviews 👍
