Thank you Brian for answering my question. I'm from ct and have a hot tub now for about a year and a half. I currently use the frog ease system (floating ball) with smartchlor. My hot tub store uses bromine systems but I like using the smartchlor. Thank you

Is bromine better for your skin than chlorine? I started having a bad reaction to the chlorine.
@atlantahottubcenter Жыл бұрын
Good afternoon, if you're having a reaction to Chlorine then I would switch but before you do I would make sure it's the actual Chlorine causing the problem. Are you sure all the chemicals are balanced correctly? Please advise. Hope this helps!
@ericalong8412 Жыл бұрын
@@atlantahottubcenter I know for sure everything was balanced except for maybe the alkalinity. Could alkalinity cause a reaction?
@atlantahottubcenter Жыл бұрын
@@ericalong8412 Good morning, Normally, I don't see a skin reaction from alkalinity. However, I have seen a skin reaction from high or low pH before. Balancing your pH can be difficult if your alkalinity is off. Are you sure your pH levels are good?

I have a water softener for my home. Is it ok, or good, to fill my hot tub with soft water?
@atlantahottubcenter6 ай бұрын
Good morning, in my opinion you can fill it with soft water but you still need to balance the chemicals accordingly. In other words, you’re going to have to bring the calcium up to at least 100ppm. Softened water will try to saturate itself with the calcium it is missing so you do need some calcium in the water. Hope this helps!

@@atlantahottubcenter I own my own water company in Las Vegas (water softeners and reverse osmosis)...we deal and talk with gpg instead of ppm in hardness. We have the hardest water of anywhere in the country in Vegas. (15-16 gpg) When you calculate that to ppm of hardness it comes out to 250 ppm of hardness. You are saying you're water should be 100 ppm of hardness in the hot tub. I have the ability to put my water softener in by-pass while I'm filling up my hot tub, but that would be way too high of hardness. I guess my question is...what harm would soft water do to the hot tub? 0 ppm of hardness. Hard water can destroy your appliances and leave white residue everywhere. Wouldn't it do the same thing to your hot tub? Why wouldn't you want to have your hot tub willed with 0 ppm of hardness? Soft water isn't acidic...it's not reverse osmosis water. I just want to know what's the worst that can happen? I appreciate it!
@atlantahottubcenter6 ай бұрын
@@jasonc9791 really, it needs to be at 150ppm but 100ppm would be enough. However, hot tub water that is too soft can be corrosive to metal, while water that is too hard can cause scaling. It also leads to excessive spa foaming problems. Furthermore, softened water will try to saturate itself with the calcium it is missing and attacks things around it to leech that hardness. I don’t think it’s detrimental but you need some calcium in the water in my opinion. Hope this helps!

Good afternoon, we suggest SilkBalance which is simply a water conditioner. Thanks for watching!

How long till I can put bromine in my pool after I've used chlorine it's been like a week or two since I've put liquid chlorine in it
@atlantahottubcenter Жыл бұрын
Good afternoon, I totally missed this. In my opinion this really depends how much Chlorine is in it. You would want to wait until levels are relatively low before making the switch. Make sure to clean your filters really well but avoid going back and forth. Hope this helps!

Will bromine cause a dry rash
@atlantahottubcenter3 жыл бұрын
Good evening, anyone can develop a rash if the chemicals aren’t maintained properly or if they’re allergic to it. That’s why it’s so important to maintain your hot tub water properly. Hope this helps

I use bromine and get in my tub nearly every morning, for years now and I’ve not had any skin issues. I do check my chemical levels weekly and adjust the bromine and ph regularly.
