Medium hard and hard brushes only used on 2.0 and up period. Brushes under that can be used whenever depending on your hair type. OG wavers here, wish I had the options in brushes you dudes have now lol but we made it work back in the day. Boil a hard diane and you had yourself a real nice medium. First wave journey started in 83

Soft brushes are also useful for brushing after removing a durag.

I tried them all but when I cut my hair less than a half an inch medium-soft appears to be a good balance of being stiff enough to straighten the hair (loosening up the curls) into waves while not scraping the scalp too much. Brush bristle quality and types/brands can make a respectable difference too. ✌️

Lol I bought 3 random brushes one was really hard and 2 where medium need to get a soft brush. I usually shampoo my hair and brush while in the shower hop out dry it a bit but leave it damp then brush it some more then put in some conditioner and brush some more and then I use pomade and brush some more then wrap up waves been looking good only issue is the back of my head no matter how much I brush it looks messed up when I wake up but the front on sides look perfect
