The best feature of laser printer is that it doesn't dry up. Especially for home use - when you use printer very occasionally and irregularly - it's huge advantage. Dried up ink may ruin cartridge or even printing head on the printer (depends on model) - which means extra costs for no reason.

The problem with ink jet is if you don't print at least once a week the ink cartridges will dry up and they are pretty expensive I don't know about the Lazer printer does the cartridge dry up also if not used?

Nope bc they don't use ink, they use a toner & drum.

I have a xerox versalink c9000 laser printer. That give me a high quality results. But the materials, the toners et are very very expensive. Can i use inkjet material (papers, labels, glossy photopaper) into my laser printer??

Great question! Toner is a dry powder so it will not dry out and will last much longer than inkjet cartridges.

The ink tank system appears to be much better than the cartridge system kzbin.infoUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 and a lot cheaper to run. The machine was easy to set up. A small point but I thought they'd be a USB cable included to help with the set up but there was none. I've been using it now for a few weeks and it seems like a good product and superior to my previous printers which were all troublesome HP machines.

Ink tank printers are good if you print regularly using the full range of color. If you don't, then they have the same issues as all other inkjet printers where the ink dries in the heads and clog them, then you waste a lot of ink and full up the waste ink tank (or worse just a sponge) trying to clean the heads.

can inkjet printers . print onto cds/disks because i want to put a picture of my favourite character onto a music disc i made but it comes out of the printer as normal paper and not platstic and solid on the top of the disc front

don't waste money on inkjets ... always clog and you will print more from one toner .. always laser ... what do you want .... 500 pages per inkjet cartridge vs up to 6X ... 3000 pages per toner cartridge

Thanks for the question! We'd recommend a laser printer if you'll find yourself printing frequently and at large quantities at a time. If you're printing frequently, you'll likely save per print. If you won't find yourself printing often, an inkjet printer could save you money on upfront costs.
