Great way to show the differences. I also like that it shows how they mimic what can be done with curves

can you make the difference with hdr wheels??? very helpful video anyway
@orelbitan2 жыл бұрын
With FCPX the Primary wheel is the Colour wheel (also the Colour bord), and to get the Log wheel effect you have to use the Colour curves.

Do you ever use the HDR wheels? What’s the pros and cons of those? If you use them a video explaining that would be awesome.
@fujicinema2 жыл бұрын
I use the exposure in the hdr wheels because it mimics what you would achieve in camera. If you wanted to have the image one stop lower or higher it can achieve that look without really clipping anything. Also I sometimes use it to remain highlights and shadows. So it's good for HDR purposes.

Is there a way to set a hotkey on the keyboard to increase or decrease those wheels?
@luisotero53542 жыл бұрын
Even though it can be used for fine tuning, the vast difference is at what step of the image processing it is used: Log is mainly used to “delog” the RAW/LOG images, whereas the primary are used for the subsequent steps to manipulate your image once it is already “deloged”.
@koalamusik2 жыл бұрын
so if I use CST there's almost no reason to use the Log Wheels?
@luisotero53542 жыл бұрын
@@koalamusik I have not been in the need to use them at such point since BM introduced the HDR wheels. That is a way better tool to fine tuning your image after it has been deloged.

Great informative video as always! Wanted to say that I'm interested in your "masterclass", but even as an industry professional the ~$1k price range is just too steep for me for an online course. Of course it's your product and you can do whatever you want, and I'm sure the value is there, but I really think you'd increase your revenue stream a ton if you'd drop it down to a more accessible level. Make it like $300 and I'd buy it, as I think a LOT more people would.

Can you do a video on Printer lights vs White balance@@@
@fujicinema2 жыл бұрын
I think he's covered it a bit before, but to summarize printer lights effect the whole image linearly while white balance has a color curve to make it more natural. PL also can be applied to the highlights and shadows to get an even tone throughout! Hope that helped!

Alt s for adding nodes, use the color space transform if you are shooting in a certain camera color space, and use the curves or web to create a unique look. Hope that helped also! Let me know if there's something specific you'd want to know!

@@osnapproductions1962 Thank you!! I'm glad I could help! Im not sure if there's a shot matching tool built into resolve, though I have seen a video about that but it may have been a plug in. I know premier has one built in, but from my experience it's not the best for getting shots match.
