Hello Abdullah, Thanks for the info. Yes i do agree with you when someone asks me the difference between ECC & S4 HANA it's not fair to say some or other changes and leave the rest. But for my knowledge i have listed some of major changes as we know they were several changes. I would like to tell on a shorter to note I've categorised into 14 major differences: 14 Major Differences between ECC to S/4 HANA 1.S/4 HANA can either run on Cloud or On- Premise,(Example 1609-On Premise & Cloud - 1610) 2.S/4 HANA can only run on HANA Database where as ECC can run on multiple DB's like Oracle,DB2 etc 3.SAP Fiori App is Mandatory it can perform activities & run real time reports. 4.S/4 HANA Employs a single line item table ACDOCA - Universal Journal, Combining tables of AP,AR,GL,AA,ML & CO. 5.HANA Database is columnar based in S4 HANA, Resulting in speed from fewer distinct values and parallel processing. 6.In S/4 HANA there are no summary tables, index tables instead, line item tables are used. 7.Inventory Management is reduced from 26 tables to a single table (MATDOC) line item table. 8.Material Ledger is mandatory and helps in valuation in two additional currencies in S4 HANA 9.In S4 HANA Parallel Ledger is a pre requisite for new asset accounting 10.Cost elements are merged as GL Accounts in S4 HANA, resulting No need of reconciliation from CO-FI 11.In S4 HANA pricing table “KONV” is replaced by a new table “PRCD_ELEMENTS”. 12.S4 HANA includes migration cockpit.(LTMC - Legacy Transfer Migration Cockpit) 13.In S4 HANA. Customer & Vendor are integrated as a “ Business Partner”(CVI - Customer Vendor Integration) 14.In S4 HANA Material Numbers have been increased to 40 Characteristics. Hope this helps.

I guess the question is what is the fundamental difference. For example in SAP the only programming I need for debugging is ABAP and if I want to check tables I check SE16. Is they the same. I know S4 hana is quite fast. I heard that it uses both ABAP and Java. Also do you access tables the same way? How do you debug?

Quick question: If I want to create my own ERD (entity relationship diagram) let say, for BP Master Data, is there a document that give hints on the Data Model? I manage another SAP ERP (B1 for HANA) I have a document that tells me that OCRD is header table for BP, CRD1 has the possible address to deliver goods, CRD2 Payment Methods, and so forth. In this way I am able to get good insight of the data model and how the system works.

It is an upgrade of ERP, and doesn’t give committed productivity and reduced cycle time or cost to implement, have higher change management, higher chances to get failed and don’t deliver cash flow and automation productivity. Why would I recommend an ECC6 customer to go for SAP S4 Hana rather than recommending them to adapt best in class tools like HighRadius, Celonis and others who on papers commit productivity, provide plug and play ready to implement features, provides predictive analytics, built in OCR technology, Transformation and self-learning auto cash algorithm, leverages data and do pattern analysis on customer’s behaviors etc.

First because SAP will stop supporting ECC soon as they announced many times, so no real choice here! Second because S4Hana has many features that solved many customer issues, I have created many videos to explain the processes that were upgraded, there is a huge improvement for example in Rebates and Credit Management. Third the performance is really superior in S4Hana, but it requires a much more expensive investment in hardware or going to the cloud I would happily discuss this, I'm sure the discussion will be useful, please reach me on LinkedIn so we can arrange

Hi Mahesh, that's a very difficult question without a correct or wrong answer. I would say maybe you can target PP or plant maintenance? you can actually target any module you want! Regarding finding a job, I really don't know, it depends or where you are and the job market. Sorry I couldn't help more.
