You are right. They are 2 different cars. As it’s shaping up, many are being sold. Local shops are running out and there is a lot of interest in running this car. The best part, almost everyone wants to run it box stock. Hopefully it brings in new drivers and gives the entire field a car that could win any race. It’s cool that almost all of our NY, NJ, PA tracks are adopting one rule set. So we should have a dozen tracks that this car can run at.

Y'all might want to do some more explaining why the 4x4 bellcrank is such a problem. I heard you say it limits throw, but if the car pushes, even more slip angle isn't likely to reduce understeer. The new one doesn't have the tuning time, so I'd like to see how it does after more track time, and how it runs with the Salvas body. I predict that all of the Traxxas Mudboss changes eventually become the standard for all Mudboss racing in a few years, but folks have the option of bodies and tires, at the very least.
@BloodlineRC7 ай бұрын
@@guest6423 from everything I’ve heard and read, the HD bell crank reduces steering by 20%. On a tight oval (like the one we ran at), there are times you are 100% dual rate. This car did feel like it needed to have the wheels cranked to the left, just a little more. Personally. I tried the black bell crank, and was told the car just won’t work as good with that and the HCG. When I changed back to the stock white, the car felt a ton better. One thing I’d like to try, is pinning this bell crank. I know people would pin the stock white servo saver, but I went with savox servos, and an aluminum horn. So never fooled with pinning. I think your prediction is spot on. This new car will take over. I only hope we get a North American rule set and we are all on the same page.

To be fair, it’s the tires. The tires just don’t have the grip of S1 kumhos and just aren’t as good as stock kumhos, when the track surface permits the harder tires. The weight really isn’t doing the car any favors either. The new car is ok, but it’s still not performing the same as an equivalent Salvas Mudboss stock class car. It is just it’s own thing, it will run in a class of its own. And that’s fine. It doesn’t matter if it puts down better lap times, what really matters, will they sell (which they do) and will people bring them out to support the class to race them. It’s been tough getting a decent field of these cars out, but it’s to be expected for a car only a few months old. By next year, we will get a better idea of what happens with this new car and class. I see a lot of interest in people buying and say they want to race them, but no one’s coming out. I’d just say, bring ‘em out and race them people. Every time they run, it draws a crowd to watch. So, there’s support. But, to be blunt, traxxas opened the door for comparison by building this car and building it as the ‘Mudboss’ or ‘modified’. It’s a class that was established and they jumped on the bandwagon (10 years after it started) and built something that is the same, but not comparable to the existing rule sets. It’s what aggravated a lot of people already running the class.
