The color of the dye is dark green, it looked blue when it was wet. The pattern you see on some of the papers is from a paper towel. I dye a lot of paper all at once and pile them all together in an aluminum pan. I separate the different types of paper with some paper towels and spread them out to dry on my 6 foot craft table (its plastic covered in paper). There's not enough room to dry them all at once so they stay in the pan until it's their turn and sometimes, the impression of the paper towel is left on the wet paper. I dry differently now, I watched a video of a woman who did it with a fan. She put the fan on it's back, put the wet pages on a rack, placed the rack on the fan and in 45 minutes they were done. Love the papers and envelopes. I never used either Rite or food coloring. Another item besides coffee and tea that works great is Walnut Stains - I used that along with different coffees to dye muslin, paper towels (different brands dye differently) and watercolor papers. One of my favorites techniques is using shaving cream with pen ink droppers and actually ground paint colors - we used those for marbling style papers. I thought Kooshma paid a visit but it was my husband's 100 pound cat sitting on my back.

Oh I’ve never heard of walnut stains. Now I have to investigate! Hubby just sent me a video of someone doing the shaving cream method to dye eggs. They used cool whip! And 😂😂 @ the Kooshma cat!

Kooshma (sp?) Reminds me of the Spanish word we used to use to scare the kids. Lol! The cucuy gonnas get you! 😮😅😅
