@@ASPextra ive different accounts goober , i follow you on all 3 of mine. Agree to disagree cause i like your content. But i did listen to this video, and just feel differently. Because the internet is full of people and opinions. If you get offended by comments of people treating you like a person or pointing out something they see than maybe they should be closed. Youre right about the parasocial , but its tough you took it the opposite of what i was trying to achieve with it. @!s88m88h It's funny that you assign that as 'sensitivity' to me. Imagine that you walked down the same street every day for 5 years and you walked past 2000 people on your way and every 3rd or 4th person kicked you in the junk.... but you made your living walking down that street.... would you do something to address it or just continue to let people kick you? I make videos for a living and if the same topic comes up over and over and over that seems to be a clue that folks may want to talk about it.

How the viewers might feel that they know you since you are watched daily- yet “we” are a camera. That 100% is why some feel they can say whatever they want to you like you’re college friends. I’m glad you voiced your boundary. This was the first time I’ve seen Mrs. Asp, and I have to say, you can see the genuine love and bond you both share 🙏🏽, and to hear almost 30 years! That is so wonderful. I’m old enough to get your son’s hair reference too haha. He was my fav player. God bless you and your family John. (I only met you once briefly 10 yrs ago when you let me volunteer at your church when I was in my apprenticeship 🙏🏽)

Internet interactions aren't really "human" interactions. They're not normal, polite, restrained-by-social-etiquette-and-culture conversations, it's more like a stream of consciousness, where the most common things said are products of the collective hivemind. People definitely noticed when your beard left as it's a major change in appearance, and it reflects the usually-private experience of being somewhat shocked when a beard is completely shaved and the process of getting used to it over time, but on the internet these "private thoughts" shared by many tend to be aired quite openly. It's important to remember, however, that the vast majority of people watching these are watching for your education and content, and the reflexively commented-on observations aren't what the majority of people are actually focusing on, even if the lack of beard is the first thing they notice (as an example).

Hello John. My condolences for the loss of your mom. About your hair, that isn't why I've been a follower of your KZbin channel. I have been following you for 6-8 years or more. I appreciate your training and lessons. That is why I watch. Having said that, don't let the comments bother you. You are a public figure and people will have opinions and take shots at you. You have to expect that. Or it could be just good hearted locker room banter as we would say If people have an issue with your hair or beard or weight just let it roll off your back. Be that good, moral and prudent person that just doesn't take the bait. I would bet that most of those making comments are older conservative guys that don't roll with long hair or beards for that matter. I was a professional first responder for 33 years. As a professional first responder we had grooming standards and that's the look we wanted to project. I think that may be where people are coming from. It does look more professional and serious when a person has short hair. Now I get it you're not a cop and this is your business, so you wear your hair the way you want to. I had a personal side gig where I would put a wig on as an Elvis Tribute Artist and I once had a person say I looked like Lord Farquaad from the movie Shrek. I blew it off. And you know...I did kind of look like Lord Farquaad LOL.. I think you look better with short hair, but it's your life. Wear your hair how you like. Keep up with your show and God bless you for doing it.
