I’m just an SPC in the army, I re-classed last month and went to AIT… again😒😅and that’s when I realized that our new soldiers were in limbo, asking me questions that DS won’t answer. I wasn’t able to answer more questions since we were told not to talk or interact with them as MOSTs but they were some questions that I had to answer and some of them were, how do I know where to go??? How am I gonna get to my first duty station? I was proud to help many soldiers by explaining them about sponsorship program. They were about to graduate and didn’t know that program even existed 😢😢😢 I’m glad I help a class of 33 new soldiers 😅

1SG, currently in ALC and before you made this video I picked Sponsorship for my Student Led Discussion topic. It’s something I care about when I get assigned a soldier whether it was as a PVT until now. I’ve been watching for a long time and your videos helped me through my boards for 5 and 6. Then I saw you make this Sponsorship video so it was nice to see you speak on this program! Thanks for the consistent great content!

Thank you so much top. You are my primary resource for anything board related. I have participated in soldier of the quarter board and won first place. Then I went to BLC and won distinguished leadership award. Now I just completed my E5 promotion board and got a go on everything. I agree with you so much about it needing the touch of a well organized and caring 1SG. Sponsorship coordination at my last unit was such a soup sandwich for the longest time. No idea who was the actual individual accepting the responsibility of sponsor in the system but most of the time we didn’t know we had a soldier coming to us until they set foot on the base. We all had to do the sponsorship courses because of how understrengthed we were and how much we got tasked out. We did our best to accommodate the newcomers and help but there was definitely a loss in translation somewhere and despite many inquiries and suggestions to make the system better, it seemed the least of anyone’s concerns so it never really got fixed until we got a 1SG who was very involved in the process. He really set it straight and forced it to be a hot topic during our squadron command meetings. We went from finding out a soldier was coming to us the day of to knowing months ahead of time.

Update*** passed the board and csm was impressed on how I handled those questions. The 2 min drill was the key to show them how well prepared I was. My reward was a 4 day field problem, anyways thank you TOP
