I love Rick but this episode shows a side of him that I find intriguing . He literally explained the point and premise of his argument to Esther while unknowingly describing the exact point and premise of her counter argument. The tough part was when Esther pointed that out to him he was unwilling to acknowledge that his very logic could be used against him. He is brilliant but needs to be careful to not feel as though he is infallible and that his ideas are guaranteed to exist without flaw. At times he shows narcissistic tendencies, but I’m not sure if it is true narcissism or simply just his critically objective mind on the spectrum grasping for absolute certainty in situations of true uncertainty.

I respond to this by saying: Keep doing what you're doing...it's fantastic. Esther is still the most captivating, quirky and beautiful woman alive. You ARE such a great communicator, Rick. I love how self aware you are! I wish more people were like you! Another thing I wanted to point out is that it seems like Esther is somewhat trying to be a little less abrasive with you, and I know today it was a difficult task because you did come in with the disclaimer of you not having it in you, but she tried after a few minutes and I appreciate that. I feel like I’m either not getting the joke or misunderstanding the vibes For the past idk how many episodes Ester will make 1 joke/poke at him and Rick proceeds to cut the music, prove her wrong, when she goes “it’s a joke” he acknowledges it but doesn’t change his behavior the next time she goes to poke at him. When she does have good line, he’ll say “first time you said something funny in whatever” I feel like if you have to tell people how much you love yourself, there’s something there. Or if he feels like she’s not listening he’ll take his ball and go home, and say “you do a podcast alone i’ll say nothing n see how you feel“ I feel like all the other podcasts I’ve seen with Rick and comics, no other comic has had to fight this much for what they’re saying/doing.

yeah... I feel the same. It's too bad that he insists that his perspective is THE TRUTH. Don't get me wrong- it's great to have conviction but it's awful for dialogue to tell others they're wrong because they see things differently. I give Esther so much credit for trying to navigate this minefield

I would love to keep watching Rick and Esther keep having real serious conversations. I feel like Esther is one of the few people that can contribute greatly since she seems to be working on herself and trying to learn and improve herself. I love Esther but the vibe I get is that she loves to *talk about* working on herself. I get that her schtick is the hot girl vibe but in an ugly girl (she's def not ugly tho) but she really does seem to get lost in the dumb hot girl thing far too often.

Does Esther not have ADHD or anything? Because this really feels like an ASD-ADHD dynamic. I have ADHD and Rick would hate me because I get distracted and look away and even when I'm straight staring, my listening ears turn off and I have to hope I get enough context to catch up after I tune back in. I also am not submissive like Esther so we would be at each other's necks..... Oh my god, I just realized that this is exactly why Annie let up on Esther when Rick went on their pod. She even became a bit defensive of Esther, which is how I would react too.

Esther has a telescoping boom tripod which definitely could have extended to reach farther. What's funny is Rick has the same telescoping boom tripod and it happens to be extended all the way (for no good reason because he's only is using half of it.) That's the real problem here!!!

34:02 - "$29 or two for $50" was such a midwest throw back. I grew up in Metro Detroit and we had those commercials all the time for Mr. Allans LOL
