HOW TO INTERPRET YOUR RESULTS. There are two ways. 1. EASY WAY (less precise) How many questions did you answer correctly? 1 - 7 correct answers = A2 = Band 4.0 8 - 17 correct answers = B1 = Band 4.5 - 5.0 18 - 27 correct answers = B2 = Band 5.5 - 6.5 28 - 37 correct answers = C1 = Band 7.0 - 8.0 38 - 40 correct answers = C2 = Band 8.5 - 9.0 2. SLOW WAY: Check how many questions you answered correctly in each set of questions (each set contains 10 questions). Your level is below the level where you start making more mistakes. For example, if you answered 18 out of the first 20 questions, you've already achieved level B2. If you then answered only 5 questions from the next set (21 - 30), you're still learning C1 and your IELTS level is probably around 6.0-6.5. Set 1 = B1 = Band 4.0 - 5.0 (Questions 1 - 9) Set 2 = B2 = Band 5.5 - 6.5 (Questions 10 - 19) Set 3 = C1 = Band 7.0 - 8.0 (Questions 20 - 29) Set 3 = C2 = Band 8.0 - 9.0 (Questions 30 - 39) Or open the table at 00:50. *Please note that his test only measures some aspects of your vocabulary and grammar, while the IELTS test assesses your language skills more comprehensively. So this test is a fun way to give you an indication of your level, not a precise assessment tool and it definitely can't replace the 4-hour long IELTS exam.

You might need to review some basics that you could have forgotten for instance. Sometimes we forget some basic grammar, so we only need to refresh our memories

This is just a YT test, not a precise assessment tool, and I bet you don't need a Band 9 to pass your test. Focus on what you know and all the best with your exam!

38/40, not a native speaker but spent some years of my life living in England. I got two questions wrong by not arriving to a conclusion in time, but overall not too bad. In question 18 I wasn't sure if c) was fully correct as I would probably say it like in b) or a), and fell into the overthinking it trap. question 20 I wasn't sure if b) was an acceptable answer as I'd probably have added a "to be" there if I was to say that kind of sentence in a conversation, though I guess you could indeed say it without it even though it sounds a bit bland. I never really learned the proper rules and grammar, as I didn't go to school in England, so I kind of just went by feel on these 😅

the correct form is "he must have missed". in the sentence the word 'must' is already put at the 3rd person (must doesn't changes between the different pronouns), that's why have stays at the base form

I'm somewhat of a paradox? I found the c2 questions waaay easier than the b2 ones. I got 2 wrong, both were b2. The b2 questions were the only ones that had me second guessing myself. I only started preparing for the exam yesterday and it's in 20 days In theory, i speak english as well as i do my native language, but i'm also extremely stupid and would have a decent chance at failing this if i took it in my native language, so we'll see how it goes. I only need band 5.5 to apply for my desired uni course.

You could use the past perfect in the second clause to emphasize the sequence of events, but the past simple works too. It depends on what emphasis you want to place

Of course, the IELTS test assesses more skills and in a more comprehensive way, but the fundamentals seems to be at a good level.
