Wouldn't a double after East's interference be a "support double" promising 3 card support for North's Hearts?

Yes indeed David, if you've agreed to use the support double convention which is useful for stronger players. For beginners/improvers I recommend a simple competitive double as falling within the general guideline 'all low-level suit doubles (up to 2S) are for take-out' - asking partner to bid the best of their unbid suits. Good video but the best bit was working out that you would win 9 tricks. That is the hard bit for me.

Thanks John - I think it’s always harder to assess the number of tricks when playing in a suit contract like this.

Sometimes difficult to know when a double is for take out and not for penalties.

Yes it is - even top players get this wrong sometimes! I use the guideline 'all low-level suit doubles (up to 2S) are for takeout rather than penalty. Doubles over pre-emptive openings at the 2 or 3 level are also for takeout'
