Thank you. Even though I became Muslim in 2010 I stopped practicing in 2013. I have been so stubborn this year about getting back right that I have been sad and frustrated this month because I’ve only had one day of not bleeding. I was so happy that day that I was able to pray Isha, yet the next morning it was back. I was stubborn and wanted to read so I read the Quaran and have been feeling guilty ever since. I have been looking for guidance on this situation and I am so happy that Allah (SWT) woke me up at an hour ago so I could see this. Thank you to the person who asked this question and thank you for answering it so eloquently. May Allah (SWT) reward you and your families many times over. If anyone could help me with more information I would greatly appreciated due to the fact I am starting over again. Like after Ramadan…. How can I make up for missing the whole month? One girl asked her potential consort to read the Quran 40 days straight. I think the extra 10 days are for the women who have to make up during that time and she asked her man to read the Quran for 40 days instead of 30 bc of this, I think.

In this Ramadan I got my period twice. But, in 17 days that i fasted, I read bosnian transcription of Qur’an (because I dont know arabic. When I finished the transcription, I started reading and reciting transliteration 🥹) prayed every salah, prayed every tahajjud, did my daily dhikr, istigfar, didn’t watch any movie (which I used to do in previous Ramadans :( ) alhamdulillah. I prayed on 4 odd nights. I can say that this is literally the best Ramadan so far for me, alhamdulillah 😭 I pray to Allah swt to accept all our good deeds, duas and intentions, insaAllah. ❤

thank you for this. inshallah i will celebrate my first ramadan this year. in a normal month, i feel far from Allah swt when i can't pray and read due to menstruation. thank you for reminding me that it is an act of worship to obey, that forgoing fasting and prayer in some cases is the best worship i can perform. alhamdulillah i am reminded every month of why i worship Allah swt through reading and praying; this will also remind me that sometimes Allah swt asks me to do things i don't understand but to obey is holy.

The best method i found as nowadays everyone is using their mobile phones excessively.. scrolling fone every other minute become their addiction... So did I.... But i found that if we use our free time (during period cycle when we r not praying salah or can't touch Quran e pak ✨) use this time in listening to lectures about meaning and explanation of The Holy Qur'an ✨. Shaykh ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Nasir al-Barrak was asked; What is the ruling on reading Quran from mobile phones without having purified oneself? He replied (may Allah preserve him): “It is well known that it is not essential to be free from minor impurity when reciting Quran from memory , or even from major impurity, but purifying oneself before reciting Quran, even from memory, is better, because it is the Word of Allah and it is more respectful towards Him to only recite it when in a state of purity. When reading from the Mus-haf it is essential to be in a state of purity in order to touch the Mus-haf, because of what it says in the famous hadith: “No one should touch the Quran but one who is pure.” And because of what it says in many reports from the Sahaba and Tabi'in. This is the view of the majority of scholars, which is that it is haram for one who is in a state of impurity to touch the Mus-haf, whether that is for reading or otherwise. Based on this, it seems that mobile phones and similar devices on which Quran may be recorded do not come under the same rules as the Mus-haf, because the letters of the Quran in these devices are different from the letters in the Mus-haf. They do not exist in the form in which they are read, rather they exist in the form of waves that form the letters when needed, so they appear in the screen then disappear when one moves to another verse. Based on this, it is permissible to touch the mobile phone or tape on which Quran is recorded, and it is permissible to read from it, even if one is not in a state of purity. And Allah knows best.” (Nur al-Islam website) Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan (may Allah preserve him) was asked: I am keen to read Quran and I am usually in the mosque early and I have one of these modern mobile phones with me on which there is a program containing the entire Noble Quran. Sometimes I am not in a state of purity but I read what I can and I read some juz. Is purity essential when reading from a mobile phone? He replied: “This is a kind of luxury that has appeared among the people. Mus-hafs - praise be to Allah - are readily available in the mosques and in fine printed editions, and there is no need to read it from mobile phones. But if that happens then we do not think that it comes under the same ruling as the Mus-haf. The Mus-haf cannot be touched by anyone but one who is pure, as it says in the hadith, “No one should touch the Quran but one who is pure.” As for a mobile phone, it cannot be called a Mus-haf.” Reading Quran on a mobile phone makes it easy for women who are menstruating and one who cannot easily carry a Mus-haf with him, or one who is in a place where it is difficult for him to do wudu, because it is not essential for the one who touches it to be in a state of purity, as mentioned above.

Although there is a difference of opinion, many of the scholars, including Ibn Abbaas, Imaam Bukhaari, Ibn Taymiyah, Ibn Baaz, Shaikh al-Albaani, etc said that it is okay for a woman on her menses to read the Qur'aan, without touching it directly. 🍃Ibn Taymiyah said: “There is no clear, saheeh text to indicate that a menstruating woman is forbidden to recite Qur'aan… It is known that women used to menstruate at the time of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and he did not forbid them to recite Qur'aan, or to remember Allaah (dhikr) and offer du’aa’.” 🍃And Shaikh Ibn Baaz said: "It is permissible for the woman who is menstruating or bleeding following childbirth to recite Qur’aan according to the more correct of the two scholarly opinions." (Majmoo‘ Fataawa Ibn Baaz, 10/209) If you want to be extra careful about not touching the Mushaf, you can also read the Qur'aan off of the Internet or on your cell phone And Allah knows best

I have a question that no one has given a satisfactory answer to about it. I have been trying to find for a long time to find a solid reference of a hadith or ayah that ‘prohibits’ women from fasting during her menstruation. From hadith what I have found at most is that Ayesha RA narrated that she would make up her remaining fasts before the beginning of next Ramadan, and it is implied that her missed fasts were due to menstruation (and even if it was, it does not say that one MUST NOT fast). From Quran, I have found that 1) Allah has commanded men to not come close to their wife during these days because they are not full health. 2)Allah has given a ‘choice’ to sick and travelers to not fast during Ramadan if they can’t (they are not forbidden, they are given a choice). No where is Quran or hadith I found that a menstruating woman MUST NOT fast. Many women actually do not feel sick enough to miss their fast during periods, and many woman are actually more vulnerable in PMS rather than during periods. Many woman actually feel better without eating during their menstruation because it helps with the sickness of bloating or nausea. So, my humble question is, where is it declared haram to not fast. I have asked several male and female scholars. Most of them didn’t respond, and those who did said that if you want to fast, you can. I know many pregnant woman or nursing mothers who choose to fast, why can’t a menstruating woman choose this. I also wonder about salah, but I know there are a few sprinkled ahadith that can lead to the conclusion that women can’t pray, but k don’t gee convinced for the ruling of fasting. It appears more of an added thing from cultural that got prevalent. Perhaps it started as ‘menstruating women can choose not to fast’, then became ‘menstruating women may not fast’ then became ‘menstruating woman must not fast’ and eventually it became haram to fast for menstruating women. And Allah knows the best.

Finished at mid day? That means she didn't fast that day. Fast starts at dawn and if she didn't get done with her period before dawn then she cannot fast that day. She will have to make it up another time Just like if you get your period in the middle of the day or even if it is 10mins before iftaar, the fast becomes invalid and you'll have to make it up Jazakallah

When I was memorising the Qur'an when I was in school, our Hifdh teacher says we can touch the Qur'an during the hifdh period, so as to allow her to participate more like following the recitation and knowing what is being pronounced. But after hifdh she's not to touch it.

This is my first time doing Ramadan and I just want clarity. This did not provide clarity one moment she’s saying you can pray the next she saying you can’t and then she saying ask for forgiveness if you do this is confusing someone please help.

On basic days you MUST to pray!You obey Allah doing this.BUT when you on your menses you CANT pray,it’s forbidden to pray on this days by Allah STW.So you obey first by praying (when you not on your mens) and when you’re not praying(when you ON your menses)you obey Allah too,because he forbidden it for you and you listening to his rules and you not praying cause you now it’s haram and you seeking Allah approval. Ask for forgiveness means ask Allah to forgive all of you’re sins,actions you’ve done because Allah will forgive all of your sins in Laylatul Qadr “Whoever spends the night of Laylat al-Qadr in prayer out of faith and seeking reward, all his previous sins will be forgiven.” So when you on your menses you can’t pray,but you can make dua and ask for forgiveness.I hope I help you even little🌺

"Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: It is obvious that women used to menstruate at the time of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and he did not forbid them to recite Qur’aan. -- Majmoo‘ al-Fataawa, 21/460 He also said: There is no Sunnah at all forbidding (the menstruating woman) to recite Qur’aan. Women used to menstruate at the time of the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), and if reciting was haraam for them, as prayer is, then this would have been one of the things that the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) forbade to his ummah, and the Mothers of the Believers would have known of it, and it would have been one of the things that they transmitted to the people. As no one transmitted any such prohibition from the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), it is not permissible to make it haraam. It should also be noted that he did not forbid that, and as he did not forbid it, even though there were so many menstruating women at his time, it is known that it is not haraam. End quote. Majmoo‘ al-Fataawa, 26/191"

If a female is healthy and willing, she should fast. It's between her and her maker. Period. You're welcome to disagree and cite your sources. But when someone says "God knows best," leave it and mind your own soul.
