Firstly, thank you for the good content. If you have time, I'd like to see a video on cross-breeding, hand breeding/natural breeding/dry breeding, and or just general breeding tips breeding goldfish for a common Joe shmoe (techniques, setup, feeding, culling, etc.).

When we adopted our oranda from my friend, we realised his food he had been eating for 4 years were all vegetable protein and fillers so it really worried us and we felt extremely bad. Ended up buying new life spectrum thera a and the goldfish one. Then, purchased repashy super gold as I found out they need different types of food and ended up buying frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp and daphnia. Although they like bloodworms more in terms frozen food. Last week we just went to a differet store to browse ended up bying Spirulina flake from jbl and bought probiotix from NLS which they enjoy. 2x times a week my fancies eat peas as they love it more than any other green veggies we have fed them. But have been looking forward to start growing duckweed in a mini tank soon. Do you think I would need to disinfect store bought duckweed? I have no experience with plants so I have been hesitating to start duckweed.

Awesome thats a great diet for them! Even some flakes are good for them as I'm sure you know you can just release them under the water so they don't take in air at the surface. Yeah I would be careful with buying any plants from the fish store as sometimes you may get some pest snails on them. I would place in a separate tank for a weeks just to be on the safe side.

Q, do you keep feeding the fish until they grow to the required size or do you in loading phases like 3 months load 3 month normal feed?

Generally dependant on the growth rate, once the fish reach around around 3-4 inches in size their growth and feed conversion ratio will dramatically slow so grooming doesn't become as fast and effective. Once the fish hit this size you can still maintain the conditions described in the video but it will not be quite as rapid and effective. I would generally reduce the feeding input at this stage. Hope that helps 😃
