As someone who shoots for fun with primes, the choice was an easy one. I love the lack of branding on the front of the xpro2, as well as the left-corner eye position. Ultimately though, it just came down to sexiness.

Cool video.... I am fortunate to be able to own both. I enjoy shooting travel/documentary style images and carry the xt2 with battery grip and 16mm 1.4 and xpro 2 with 35mm f2. While the Xt2 is easily the more "powerful" camera... there is something about the xpro2 that makes me want to grab it more often. It's the camera I take with me when I want to go with 1 camera and video is not necessary.... keep up the great work! Love it.

I know this was from a long time ago, but I'm torn between getting a second X-T2 as a backup (and for when I need two lenses ready to shoot without swapping) or an X-Pro2. I like to shoot travel/street too (among other things), but also do some festival/live music photography. In those settings I want to replace my X-T1 as the second body with lens that I carry around so I can have either a short and long prime, or a prime and my 55-200 ready to shoot at any given moment. What's it like to go back and forth between the two? I had an original X100, but it was so slow/clunky compared to the new stuff that I'm not sure it was really representative of how using the X-Pro2 would be. A lot of X-Pro2 users seem to admit that they don't really use the OVF after they settle into owning the camera-do you find it useful for street/travel? I'm thinking I'd use the X-T2 with longer lenses and grip and an X-Pro2 with my 16 or 23mm f/1.4 and OVF would be awesome in low light/fast action situations since I could see what's coming into the frame with the OVF and be more engaged/aware of the people around me. I am a left eye shooter, but could still see this as being a potential use. Do you think it's foolish to think I'll get any use out of the OVF? At this point X-T2/X-Pro2 bodies are about the same price used, and I just can't decide which way to go... I'm heading to Guatemala in 2 weeks and then to Costa Rica to shoot Envision Festival, so I'm trying to decide ASAP lol. Thanks in advance if you take the time to respond to such an old comment!

I did this exact comparison a few years back and I've never regretted going with the XPro2. I really can't understand most of the supposed advantages on the XT2 and why people seem to care so much. Seriously, if the number of frames in burst mode matter so much, then you aren't buying either of these cameras. It's the kind of stuff non photographers let guide their decision making. It's a classic example of why spec's don't always matter as much as you think. I still love my Xpro2, the XT2 would not have aged as well. It would for sure have been replaced by a 3 and now a 4. Thus a constant upgrade timeline to keep up with. The Xpro2 on the other hand is well understood to be a classic that will be hard to let go of. It actually just keeps getting better with time and the Xpro3 isn't even tempting as an upgrade due to the number of blunders Fuji packed into it.

The X Pro 2's ergonomics are amazing if you ask me. Far better than the X-T2. On the XT-2, the joystick is in an awkward position with a button directly above it. Also, the Exposure dial on the XT-2 is raised, as opposed to flush on the X Pro 2, which I find makes pressing the shutter button a slightly bit more awkward as you have to reach around/over it. The grip on the XT-2 has a rubber flap that feels cheap. But that's just me. Either way, your video's helped me lead up to the purchase of both camera's and return the XT-2. Thanks!

I like to shoot travel/street too (among other things), but also do some festival/live music photography. In those settings I want to replace my X-E2 as my current second body with lens that I carry around so I can have either a short and long prime, or a prime and my 55-200 ready to shoot at any given moment. What's it like to go back and forth between the two? I had an original X100, but it was so slow/clunky compared to the new stuff that I'm not sure it was really representative of how using the X-Pro2 would be. I'm fortunate to own both the X-Pro2 and the X-T2, each equipped with the Fuji metal hand grip. I particularly like this grip because it adds little weight to the cameras, it provides an Alpa-Swiss style mounting plate groves for use with tripods equipped with Alpa-Swiss clamps, and lastly, the grips enhance stability when using larger and longer lenses. In fact, I have metal hand grips for my X-100t and my X-E2 bodies as well. When I use my Black Rapid strap equipped with a Really Right Stuff FABN Arca-Swiss clamp, I can rapidly attach and remove my camera strap from any of my Fuji cameras. A perfect system-wide approach to carrying a camera.

Awesome video! Have to agree with you on everything, i got the Xpro2 and already took it on a trip. The form factor and button layout worked much better for me since the camera fitted nicely on my thule bag with the 35mm and 16mm lenses plus batteries and charger (cant see myself carrying the grip to the trip). Since i did mostly landscape photography the Xpro2 was incredibly fun to use and switching the finder really helped with composing the image a lot better. TLDR: Xpro2 works wonders for Landscape and street photography!

I was looking at the X-T20 but the no weather sealing and single card slot is a deal breaker :( I was also considering the X-T1 because I'm trading in a Sony A99 and the price I'll get for that covers the X-T1 better as a trade in. But again the single card slot and 16MP feels like I'm getting less in return. Haven't pulled the trigger yet but the X-T2 kinda fills the gap but i have to pay more money.

great video as always, one detail on the EVF - it goes to 100fps in boost mode even without the grip, also the AF speed is bit better in boost mode even without the grip. In my testing you lose about 1/4 of the battery life running in boost mode without the grip.

Another interesting question would be X-T1 vs X-T20.. both are around the same price right now.. personally I would get the X-T20; better autofocus, 24MP sensor, 4K video, touchscreen.. but X-T1 has a better EVF, weather sealing, higher build quality

I would like to know X-T20 and X-T2 viewfinder size compared to 5D mk2 (which) I own. Is X-T2 same size? Smaller? Larger? How about X-T20? :)
@tvurk7 жыл бұрын
EVF magnification on the X-T20 is 0.62x, on the X-T2 it's 0.77x, on the 5D Mark II it's 0.71x.. so X-T2 has the biggest viewfinder, X-T20 smallest and 5D is in between
@LeeZavitz7 жыл бұрын
The X-T2 viewfinder is noticeably bigger than the 5dmkii but not massively different. And its quite a bit bigger than the XT20 from what I can remember. I've only used the XT20 for like 5mins haha.
@nitrowad7 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I was mainly aiming for X-T20 as a secondary camera, but was worried cause of the viewfinder size. If it's 0.62x and 5D mk2 is 0.71, I guess that X-T20 is roughly close to 7D (which I also own).

haha thanks for the response, I'll have to take your word for it until I one day get to spend some time shooting with one. I own an XT1 and love it, shooting with 3 different primes and the 50-140 zoom.
@philnwafor91407 жыл бұрын
In addition to the aforementioned reasons for the X-Pro body style, the XT seems to be a comfortable transition for those lifetime SLR folks. The Xpro is different and takes a different deliberate approach to photography. Personally, even if I came from the Nikon world, I am at home with the range finder style body. I love that it de-emphasizes video, the screen is perfect as high res fixed, the OVF + ERF is perfect for my style, the grip ergonomics is great (couldn't imagine getting another huge big grip to carry around to get full performance, that is why I left the Nikon FX world). I am in AF-S 98% of the time as I don't shoot sports and I use almost all primes (only zoom i have is the 10-24 which is infrequently used). Yes, there I say the 'L' word here as an inspiration to the Xpro body...photography over video. Deliberate shooting over speed. Picture making over capture. That brand also does not have an articulating screen on purpose. :)
