Thanks for (Re)introducing the Ambassadors. It somehow increases the sense of community to see the profile pics and names. I don’t understand why this is so, but it is so for me.

My mother always told me to sign my first and last name and when it was made I everything I make. Quilting is long lasting and future generations will hopefully treasure it.

Gosh, Pat, how pretty that quilt you are working on turned out! From a distance I wondered what kind of lace you used on the rectangles. When you showed that sashing up close I saw it was just fabric! You are a master of using the best fabric for each block! I also love the polka dots on the Christmas Will you be my neighbor quilt! I want to make one using the polka dots!! I watch everyday and am blessed by your creativity and positivity !,! I’ve been concerned when you start back to your normal life! Thank you 🙏 Thank you 😊 You are such a blessing!🥳💕🦋

You rocked out the rest of Words to Live By!! Soooo close!! Great job!!! Thank you so much for going back over the Ambassadors!! Gray scale info very helpful. I had placed several of my Farmer's Wife blocks on the wall and was sitting there looking at them and noticed that one seemed to read all the same color. I grayed it on my phone and sure enough - absolutely no contrast. It read as almost all the same color. So I'll be changing that one out. Your knowledge and information is certainly teaching me a lot!! Thanks so much! 💜

Hi group. When I'm doing scrappy. I take a picture of the entire quilt, then go to filters grey tones, to help get balance . I can move blocks .

Exactly! Or like when I was getting ready to make one of Ruth Ann Berry's 3D quilts, I was making it out of Moda grunge. So to make SURE my fabrics would read light, medium and dark, I would take pics in black and white. I had the hardest time with orange! I think I ended up not using grunge for medium 😅

Thank you Pat for showcasing my blocks today. Very exciting! Adding the sashing this early is a great idea. I think auditioning my sashing will help me to see how the many fabrics in Moonstone will be tied together. 😍😃🤩

I used to live in Fairfax! I grew up in the Shen. Valley and am now back there again. I love your videos! I do not know how you get so many quilts made but I love them. I am looking for some fairly local retreats/classes. Do you have any suggestions? I consider myself a moderate beginner, but I need some help with some of the basics, like accurate cutting and matching points. They seem to be my biggest issues. Thanks for your feedback!
@PatSloan2 жыл бұрын
cool! I don't do retreats so can't help you with that

1. I enjoy making quarter square triangles with 4 triangles - I make intentional fabric cuts so that they make kaleidoscopes or so that the outer ones are the same as the corners in an Ohio star, etc. 2. Jinny Beyer has the Nonsense block on her site FREE as part of a block a week from 2016 made without quarter square triangles. (She uses a square in a square in the center, treat the remaining triangles as setting triangles around the rectangles. (4 small quarter squares to keep the edge on the straight of grain and 4 big half squares in the corners.)

Thanks for the label information, it was really good. I do usually label (now), but don’t put enough info apparently. As a follow up to that do you provide any written care information for those who are unfamiliar with quilts. Quilting is not as popular here in UK and when I gift quilts (blankets as they call the) people are surprised that I want them to be used and that they can be washed.

What type of pins do you use to hang your quilts?
@PatSloan2 жыл бұрын
for finished quilts on my wall I have curtain rods, . On my design wall it is straight pins into the design wall, that is not my finished wall.
