New to comics and this video taught me about the absorption purposes of the backing boards. Vital to know although I’m annoyed I’m going to have to change them every 5 years 😭

The 6 7/8 with a full back to me feels very tight on a lot of modern comics these days. I just stick with the 7 1/8. Does anyone else feel the same.

Same there’s an issue with the modern/current bags. They’re too small for the current modern birds that Bcw sells. Huge issue.

That feel when you see this AFTER buying your first ones and realised you've spent a lot of money poorly. Awesome video. So much depth/detail, way more than I realised I'd get and it's all fully appreciated.

Bronze Age and modern are different sizes? 1970 - 1985 18.4cm vs 1985 - present 17.5cm?

Thanks for the info! I haven't collected comics in 30 years or more. I started collecting again and had no idea there were different bags and backings out there.

I bought the wrong size bags for the boards. They both state silver, but the board barely fits the bag, let alone the comic. This video explains it. Wish I knew this before 😢

The standard from just a few years ago was Just Right ! Bags 7.25" and Boards 7.125" ... so that's 7 1/4 bags and 7 1/8 boards ... just big enough for me to feel comfortable putting 1960s books in them. ........Now the 7 1/8 (7.125") boards are hard to find, though i found one Ebay seller with 100 boards for about $27 with free shipping. ........The common pairing now has 7 1/4 (7.25") bags with 7.00" boards, which is too loose. It will allow the book to slide around, alternately exposing the spine, or the right edges to getting dinged.

Do the regular size boards fit in the modern/current mylar bags?
@Bcwsupplies3 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Regular Boards (6 7/8" wide) are snug in the 2 Mil Current Archivals (7" wide), and loose in 4 Mil Current Archivals (7 1/4" wide).

I just bagged and boarded a bunch 2022 comics in Modern Age and I basically had to shove them in, not good for the spine or corners…..

Bought current bags based on the time frame of comics issued. WAY too snug for my Bronze/Copper books. Getting some Silver and hope they work out better.

How about some treasury sized mylar sleeves???
@Bcwsupplies3 жыл бұрын
BCW offer backing boards and polypropylene bags for treasury-sized comics: Treasury Bags www.bcwsupplies.com/treasury-comic-book-bags Resealable Treasury Bags www.bcwsupplies.com/resealable-treasury-comic-book-bags Treasury Backing Boards 10 1/4 x 13 1/2 inches www.bcwsupplies.com/treasury-comic-book-backing-boards While we do not have Treasury Bags in Mylar, we do have 11x17 Mylar Bags if you don't mind the larger size. You could trim the 11x17 bags and boards to the desired height. www.bcwsupplies.com/art-print-mylar-bags-2-mil-11x-17 Thanks

@@Bcwsupplies mylar is not polypropylene correct? I think you should charge the same price for mylar and polypropylene if you think so. Biaxially oriented polypropylene is ok but never regular poly. I need treasury sized mylar sleeves and if BCW made them, they'd be exclusive in that category.
