In this video, I show you what the staff accommodations I've lived in look like. Staff Accommodation is a great cheaper option for living in Banff.

Great video. I worked at the Banff springs golf course back in 1999 and the staff accommodations were 105$ a month east back then. They also provided us with a food card. Deep down below the Banff springs hotel are many kitchens and eating areas for the staff. We had a daily credit applied to our food cards and we could choose from hundreds of ready to eat meals. They were actually restaurant style meals. I rarely bought groceries for a year. They treated us like kings and queens. It was the best time of my life. Enjoy Banff and the Rockies.

Hey Dean, I'm in a position where I may be a potential banff fairmont golf course employee soon. Cutting grass, watering that sort of thing I think. Do I need to look out for wildlife (bears) coming onto the course and potentially attacking? Did you carry bear spray, what made you leave ? tia for your help.
@deanjohnston4073
@deanjohnston4073 2 жыл бұрын
@@1MrBanff bear spray would be a good idea to carry on you but you really shouldn’t have to worry. Your machine will make enough noise to scare anything away. Plus they are on point in regards to the wildlife. I once had to wait at the falls on my way to work at 6 am for an hour while park rangers removed a grizzly by helicopter off the course. You’ll see so many elk it’s incredible. May is baby month and in the fall the big males come down the mountain for the rutting season. It’s wild to witness. If your out hiking always carry bear spray and bear bells also. Pretty much just don’t be stupid and realize you’re in natures wonderland. You’re going to love it there. Cheers

Thank you for taking the time to make them :) I'm currently looking at applying for the summer with Banff Lodging Co, I saw in a comment below that you work in HK? so exciting, most of the hotels within the companies work in pairs, the only one that doesn’t is the moose and I would recommend avoiding that one because it can be hard to work alone. in pairs it’s actually not bad at all!

Banff was great once now there restrictions and laws . people would sleep in the park when they first got there. you can stilll do that but its a $500 doller fine...you know why"ll your in banff looking for work couse you have no money. Alberta is a policing province almost militant. they have peace officers that do nothing but hand out fines, genarates massive amount of money that and the cameras at every intersection.
