Eat a healthy plant based diet and exercise regularly. Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly. Obesity is all too common today. Get off the couch. Ride to work, ride to school, ride for fun. Every city should be a bicycle city. Speak up for bicycles in your community.

This is a lot of good information and is a good reminder for me. I have canned beans that have some salt. However, I prepared for the future to measure out my salt with an empty salt shaker and a 1/2 teaspoon to measure it daily, when the time comes. Also, I bought a multivitamin that has B12, but also helps me with some other nutrients I can be a little short during weight loss, including calcium, zinc. The weight loss will be done in 3 weeks tops. :-) By the way, on all healthy carbs, I lowered my weight so far 78 lb. Of course, it's possible to overeat some more calorie dense carbs but I'm careful with that and to eat foods that seem to reduce my hunger, such as potatoes, which are less calorie dense. I do get hunger but it's tolerable. This is eating 1500 calories. I have days where I eat more, on rare occasion, but the potatoes reduces those special days. Banana Nice Cream I want to tell people about banana ice cream. It's very similar to ice cream, especially being so cold and the texture. I think the flavor is close but not exactly the same. Take 2 bananas, break up into 1/3 inch pieces or about that size, and put in freezer bag. I freeze a long time to be sure, for 12 hours, I heard others say 4-8 hours. Have a strong blender or food processor: put the bananas in there and blend up, and you can add things like cacao, which I do, 3 grams per banana. *** I also add 1/4 cup of water per banana, and other people seem to like different types of plant milk, like soy milk. I have to stop in the middle and use a spoon to get the big chunks down by the blade. I have to shake my blender some to get the big chunks down there. It's not the same taste as ice cream but it is very close and very good.

Wow!!! Nuts and avocados are a huge part of my plant based diet. I’ve been diagnosed when I was 36 with borderline cholesterol. Still, cannot give up nuts and avos. I eat 2 avocados a day. However, I recently had a blood test that was normal. (Now I’m 44.)Just a little low in iron. So I’m told by my doctor to take a multivitamin. I was actually against supplemented vitamins, but I found a whole food multivitamin that I’m trying. I have been a vegetarian off and on vegan since I was a teenager, actually switched to raw vegan over the last few months. It’s not easy, but it’s a great feeling. I consume cooked foods once in awhile now but actually trying to get back to my raw vegan diet 100%. I’m going to try going without sunscreen for about 10 minutes in the morning while I water my plants. My dad died of melanoma at age 55 so I do still believe in wearing spf most of the time. Living in Southern California. Good information. Thanks for the video.

Extra-virgin olive oil is the healthiest of all the refined oils. That being said, it is an oil that is also 2% saturated fat, it is also highly refined, and is incredibly calorie dense. It's not a whole food, and your body can absorb most of it. This is unlike eating foots high in fat like whole nuts; most of the fat in whole nuts doesn't get absorbed. Generally, refined oils will not help when it come to BP and cholesterol. I have replaced the oil on my air-pooped popcorn with water! It seems weird, but if you spray on water using a plastic food-friendly spray bottle you can sprinkle your toppings on (nutritional yeast, garlic, onion, cumin are my favourite) and they'll stay on and it will be delicious!

Why would we need supplements if we can fortified oat milk with B12 in it, or Marmite (I'm from the UK). I get my vitamin D from the brown mushrooms we can buy here, and it's also in oat milk which I have every day in porridge and tea. I don't feel run down, so my iodine levels seem normal. Beans, spinach, and lentils are mostly where I get iron, and I get iodine from wholegrains, green beans, courgettes, etc. I'm coming up to seven years mostly plant-based now. I feel terrific.

Just an anecdote, but until recently, I relied on b12 from occasional fortified foods - and I’ve been vegan for 16 years! And no other supplements! In fact, I haven’t taken as much as an aspirin in over a decade! But I’m now taking b12, better safe than sorry, vegan or not. Why am I telling you this? Well, because many vegans, and non vegans, believe you have to take supplements to “maintain a vegan diet”, which is absolutely not true. But yea just take a b12, it’s dirt cheap.

What would you recommend for a person having already 1 month on a plant based diet and as a result lowering to a normal range the systolic BP but still having a over 80 diastolic BP, even though they take medication for this condition? At the beginning of the said month total cholesterol was 220....They plan to maintain this lifestyle for at least 3 months before new blood tests. Also i could mention that erectile dysfunction is greatly improved already.

Doctor Barnard talked about palm oil in peanut butter. This is where label reading helps us. Many peanut butters are full of palm oil. DO NOT BUY. Avoid these. Some peanut butters are just ground peanuts and a bit of salt. These are fine. Look for these. (Peanut butter is still a high calorie food with a lot of oil. Don't eat massive amounts of it.) Look for peanut butter made from just ground peanuts. Avoid anything with palm oil.

Try NutritionFacts dot org also - they have a series on vitamin B12. You need B12 no matter how perfect your vegan diet is. I just think that they said B12 is best absorbed as a separate tablet, meaning that it doesn't really work to get it as part of a multivitamin. Dr Barnard has emphasized B12 and 2000 micrograms vitamin D as a must for all vegans.

We've been eating sugar, the stuff that we never ever ate until the slave trade brought it back from the West Indies. Potoatoes came back from South America, Rice from the East. We've never ever had so much sugar and carbs in our diet in our lives. Yes, carbs have 4 calories per gm and animal fats and proteins have 9 calories per gm. The difference is you still have to eat the same amount so you eat an enormous amount of vegetable matter compared to animal matter. That's the difference. Carnivores only eat once a day. How many times do vegans eat? He talks about pure sugar having 4gms but they're empty calories, they are no good for you at all. All vegetable matter contain carbs, flour, rice, potatoes are all carbs.

Well..... you can eat Avocado and nuts, just less. Trust me 🙏 been doing this for a long time. Let me start by giving this piece of advice. Your diet shouldn't just be something you do for a certain amount of time, to lose weight. ....but I understand trying to turbo the weightloss 😅 However, you can eat 1/4 or 1/2 Avocado per day, and you'll still be fine. As for nuts, eat only ever just a Hand full. Do this for YEARS 😁 ....forever! I lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks following a WFPB diet - eating Avocado and nuts. Fat still melts off. Just also avoid all flour products. No more food after 6pm Get into good habits - for a lifetime. You'll still lose the weight 👍

Take 300g Himalaya salt crystals (the larger the better), add 1 Liter well water - and let stand for 16-24 hours. Add 1 teaspoon of this salt water to small glass of water - Kind of like a large shot glass. Drink on empty stomach first thing in the morning. I follow a WFPB diet, eating absolutely NO processed foods - so I also don't get enough sodium from my diet. 😎✌

chemical supplements fills only some gap, the only way to guarantee that children adsorb all the nutrients that they need is to feed them meat and dairy products. Luci Daniels, a pediatric dietitian and former chairwomen of the British Dietetic Association , says. It is unsurprising that adding meat to a child's diet improves their development.

I have been Whole Food Plant-Based no oil or vegan butter or faux cheese or cashew cream for years. I even gave up guacamole and hummus. But I didn't lose weight almost at all until I started doing Dr. Greger's 21 tweaks. I had such bad blood sugar spikes that I would eat 7 cups of potato and broccoli soup for dinner and still feel like I was starving and then have rebound hunger 2 hours later. The apple cider vinegar and the other spices and amla have changed my life. Three years into this process, without really changing what I eat, I am now losing 2 or 3 pounds per week. 2 or 3 pounds per week almost 3 years into this diet after not losing weight that whole time. I suddenly LOVE amla and apple cider vinegar and garlic and black cumin and whatever else was on the list.

I don't wish to be argumentative but what he says about arsenic isn't really right, in India and Pakistan some of the rice is high arsenic and in America a lot of the rice is high arsenic because of pesticides used in the past. Also what is lacking is the proven benefits of very low oil diets, what does it mean in terms of lifespan or cardiovascular health. Not comparing American junk food but with healthy high-fat or healthy low-fat, I don't know but it would be interesting if there was more data

One thing I noticed with no salt or little salt people is their neck girth gets as small as their wrist, lol. Then maybe from lack of oils ...their voices become dry and raspy. Maybe a little coconut oil, flax oil or just increase the amount of walnuts. I notice when I put nuts in a grinder they stick to the side and when I scrape them out they are stuck together and oily. So nice to know I am getting fresh nut oil this way. You can't be a dry voiced non oil person and be a professional singer.
