Yeah, it was my favorite show. It was pretty heartbreaking when they cancelled it. Such quality that you don't see in todays shows. I loved the complete individuality of personality within the cast and writing for them. Very good acting skills as well. I wish it hadn't been canceled. It rather rocked my world in a not so good way, lol.

I was so upset when they ended the show but at least they allowed the show's creator to write a wonderful last episode that summed up everyone. I thought this was the perfect love story between Max and Liz! Such a great show! Loved Michael and Maria as well! They were so funny! I really thought Maria was the funniest actress! +BeyondEnchantment Sure, the ending was very rushed, given how the decision to cut the number of episodes down came so late, but first of all unlike many/most American shows it actually had an ending, and most importantly the ending, for all its practically unavoidable (given the circumstances) weaknesses, had exactly the right ideas, in my opinion, and executed them beautifully. The latter mostly applies to the two core couples of the show, of course, and I agree with Jodi Lynn Nelson concerning the parts that really counted. I agree with you for the rest of this last episode, but I'm just thankful that there was an ending at all. For me, it's very easy to look past the many faults it has, as long as I take it in context.

+Johan Gudmundsson If you are referring to the upcoming reboot that has a different cast and creators, then it will pretty much be a different show. The characters won't be in high school, and in fact they had probably graduated years ago by the time of the pilot episode. The new show will immediately get political intentionally by drawing a parallel between children taken illegally across the US-Mexico border by their parents and the Roswell alien hybrids (assuming they are still hybrids), and Max will be a cop. Presumably there will be the Max-Liz and Michael-Maria couples and all the drama that comes with that, but it's still very hard to think of the new show as an actual reboot of the original show. In addition, the original show was "lightning in a bottle" in regard to the quirky cast and crew (producers and writers), and I seriously doubt that the so-called "reboot" will capture the same spirit even if it tried. Now, I'm not trying to prejudge and write off the new show, which with any luck will turn out to be a good or even great one for all I know, but my point is that it won't be the same show and I do not technically consider it a reboot--more like a very loose re-imagining of the concept only at its most basic level. It's a new show about aliens in Roswell with some familiar names, and that's probably all the similarity there will be.

Jodi Lynn Nelson there was going to be a season 4 but got scrapped after, season 3 got canceled and they rushed a few episodes left in season 3 some. Actors/actresses got less screen time because of it and look what happened, or got canceled and it felt out of place I liked the ending but it still felt too. Rushed the last season could have more story lines in it then it did okay I, have you have an amazing day or night wherever you are.

I loved the original show. I’m tired of the politically charged shows, and I was sad to see that the reboot was doing that. Even if I agree with the politics, I don’t watch shows to see political commentary. That’s what the News is for. I want to be entertained. I don’t want a political agenda to be shoved in my face. It’s a cheap way to get a bunch of people to watch the show because it “is tackling so many important issues.” Why is it so much to ask to have a show that focuses on a story instead of a show that exhausts you with the obvious political jabs at real world issues?

I watched Roswell New Mexico first and then I found out there's older version. That is probably the reason why I like the reboot too. But being a 90s kid when I watched the original Roswell I was amazed. It totally brought me back in the old style TV series with a lot things happening and not so complicated relationships (just look at New Mexico and their too modern relationships). I love the original and of course Max and Liz are my couple, because they were THE example of people who love each other truly, aways being calm and respectful, with eyes expressive enough to speak without words. Really good. Pleasure to watch.

I absolutely LOVED the original. It was my favorite show along with MY SO CALLED LIFE. The original cast was SO original as far as casting and acting skills. Each character was so independant and not the cookie cutter garbage of today's television. It had depth of character, and individuality in each talented actor. It hurt when it ended, lol. I have the whole series on DVD box set though. I watched it with my youngest son several months ago. It's a remarkable show. Plus it's not FULL of sex, or evil characters the way shows are designed today.There are bad characters but not for the entirety of the series; just for shorter periods of time. It has it's comic moments and mostly just very great acting drama. I have been hoping they would make a remake soon, since that's what's up in TV land now. Of course the original cast would be appreciated, but since that's not happening; I will be checking this new one out. I hope it's not too dark though. I hope it's still wholesome and the characters have some comic adorableness about them. I would like to fall in love with this show...but the original was superb in a multitude of ways that just seems to fall short with much of today's television writing. Fingers crossed! What better friggin NOT happen is I love this show and then it gets canceled!!!!! xoxo

Roswell was an outstanding show until the Network screwed it up. They planned to cancel it after Season 1, and then the fans saved it but EVERYTHING that should have happened over two seasons was crammed into Season 1 (in an effort to give the fans an ending). Roswell Season 1 was awesome, but the rest was trying to patch the damage from the Network. (Katherine Heigl was a head case and wanted off this series. Something she would repeat through out her acting career).

UPDATED WITH ROSWELL NM NEW SHOW REVIEW BELOW: I just finished re-watching this series. From the very first moment of the very first episode, it was completely on point. Great storytelling. Great acting. Great direction. This is one of those shows that got canceled way too early and for no apparent reason (like FireFly). It's really hard to pick a favorite character because every character is so completely unique and plays such an important role. Okay, I've given the new show a fair chance before writing the review. First impression is that it's just not as good as the original. Not by a longshot. Like I said above, in the original, it hooks you immediately and keeps you hooked. The new show takes a while to get warmed up. A huge problem with that is that all the way through they're basically face-banging you with SJW rhetoric, which really detracts from the show and pulls you out of the moment. There you are, trying to get into the show, and all the sudden you feel like you're sitting in a lecture at Berkley, and you're like "wait, is that what this show is about? I thought it was an alien romance?!" Don't get me wrong. I'm as liberal as the next guy. Equal rights, open borders, all that stuff ... but, damn, can I PLEASE just watch a show without getting preached at every 15 seconds? Can we do that? Please?! There is a way to incorporate that message into the show organically so that it doesn't turn the show into the message, but apparently, these writers don't know how to do it. My final point about the new show is that all of the characters are essentially unlikable. Liz and Max are the least unlikable, which is good because it's basically their show ... but come on. The audience needs to be able to root for someone, and everyone is just miserable all the time. Long story short, they would have been WAY better off just bringing back the original cast and doing a continuation show where now the old characters have teens of their own. This would have been so good because we could continue the theme of teenage aliens trying to fit in and survive without revealing their secret, and you'd also have parent aliens now risking everything to keep their family safe from government agents and the threat of the pending invasion that they had looming over them at the end of the original show. This is SO MUCH more interesting than what they have going on in the new show!

@@chubbyninja842 i know what you are trying to say. but the new roswell is never going to be just like the original roswell. the writers don't want to have the show exactly same as the original because it will get boring. we are in a different year and other things are happening than in '90s. so with that new characters and plots are coming. you can't compare the characters or actors. this is remake. you have to deal with new and different plots/characters. if you don' t like roswell, new mexico just watch the older one. i'm watching lots of ramake series and i can say that this series is very good at it. it's different but what can you do about it. i didn't come to make thing worse but i'm just saying.

I just watched the reboot of the new Roswell. And let me tell you, unless you are a SJW, a Liberal, or have a pro-immigration stance, don't bother watching it. The Pilot episode was steeped in anti-Trump rhetoric and strong criticism against his border policies. if you're expecting it to be like the original, don't bother watching. Here are few things about the episode: 1. The characters Liz and Maria are Hispanic and L'z's father is an immigrant living in the country illegally. 2. Micheal Guerin and Alex Whitman's characters are gay and are in love with each other. 3. The "aliens" angle (as in from outer space) is constantly being used as a metaphor for the current immigration climate and the illegal immigrants coming here.. 4. Sheriff Valenti is a woman. 5. The episode focused heavily on ICE arrests and deportations of illegal immigrants . 6. The building of the wall is used as a reason that Liz loses her job and has to work in her father's diner. Truthfully, I wouldn't even call this a reboot. I'd call it a re-imagining of the series.

Look up Melinda Metz and her book series "Roswell High"....most of the Characters are Latin/Hispanic....and their lives a bit different than the original tv series. No skin aliens, Alex's dad is the enemy......I do think this version is VERY political, but having Latin/Hispanic leads is accurate based on the book series. It's 10 books in all. Cheers.

Loved this show. Loved Michael and Maria and most especially Max and Liz. Just started to rewatch the series. Back in the day I turned the series off when Tess got pregnant. The writers just had to pollute Max and Liz's love story. Liz getting pregnant would have been so much MORE WONDERFUL. Now I am on season 3 and I am wondering if the show changed writers. The characters just don't feel the same. I think that is why the show was cancelled. Why does Hollywood always feel the need to change perfection. It is like they are too afraid of a good thing! I will watch to the end this time and I better get a HAPPY ENDING!

I really liked that Roswell and was very disappointed when it was cancelled. I have no interest in reboots---to me---reboots indicate that there is little creativity in Hollywood.

From my research, I'm gathering that the new reboot is set where the characters are in the future of their lives, but nothing seems the same about it. I just can't replace Jason and Shiri or any of the other characters' faces. It's them or it's nobody for me. And I also hate the idea of my favorite TV romance being hijacked by the politics going on today and turned into a political commentary about immigration policy, which I hear is another factor the storyline will feed into. Not to say I feel one way or the other about my position in politics, but please don't drag it into my childhood favorite, Roswell.

Sure it was annoying when the series was cut short but perhaps it was eventually a blessing in disguise. The serie got more drive as the loose ends had to be knotted and it did not lose the spark like some series have running couple of years too many.

@BeyondEnchantment Heigl's character did become the centrepiece because of the dramatic events and the danger of being revealed. On the trivial level Colin Hanks had to be written away because he begun to get offers and the team did not want to be an obstacle. Then the funding was cut to three seasons. From viewers perspective, the actors started to grow out their teenage roles as well.

My favorite scene from Roswell was Max and Liz making out in the kitchen of the diner and they got so hot and heavy they knocked over that bowl of strawberries. 💞

Rowell was a very good show , the twilight kinda is similar to Roswell but only with vampires instead of aliens but Roswell is much better.
