Hey, I did subscribe. This is a good study. Derek's first sentences made me think: Jesus is God The Communicator and He knows what He Himself is capable of, (only for the sake of protecting Everybuddy Else!) So when God found Himself in a body in which, theoretically, He could abscond traitorously & be FOOLED, (like the Adam Family), He tippy-toed around Himself when relating (from the choosing world of Earth) to Heaven and Father God. Father God is the Sentience Giver! If you want to experience going crazy, ignore what you know should be doing for long enough. Go ahead and ignore that still small voice of The Holy Spirit. That's will do it. The opposite is Gratitude, Kindness and Humility, that is fearing God!

I feared my father because he would make me kneel on rice and hit me on my back with a belt. At 8 or 9 years old when I went down the church isle to accept Jesus, I was uncontrollably crying. I didn’t know why and they were confused but slugged it off. I think it’s because the Baptist church put the same fear I had for my father but now it was fear of God beating me up and sending me to hell. I’m 62 and still struggling in many ways with this. Fear of God in a healthy sense is a desire to obey God's commands and follow Jesus closely. Not the fear of hell, losing your salvation, or physical punishment. Think of a different type of Father who is stern and will discipline you for doing wrong, but this is to bring you closer to Truth and he loves you more than anything else, so much that he died an absolutely brutal death on a cross for you. It's tough to grasp this concept, God offers correction to his children not condemnation. If you are saved and fear losing salvation or going to hell, that's not a healthy fear of God.

Here is a thought when the Holy Spirit sealed me, the fear of the Lord was so strong. I gathered my baby up out of her crib, wrapped her in a blanket and had my hand on the door knob getting ready to run out into the icy, pouring rain to get in my car and run and then I remembered God would never let anything happen to me when I was praying to him but I didn’t know until later. It was the seal the Holy Spirit .

Derek Prince was without any question a great gift to God's people! He carried an anointing for teaching that few others could equal. There's actually a supposed pastor somwhere in the Philly area who is telling his people that Derek was a false teacher, not even born again and is now in Hell! How sad!

I don’t fear the Lord. My fears have only created addiction and co dependence mostly to my parents way of thinking. I am learning to respect and understand Gods laws and to see my sin as a result. My fears already within me from my childhood have created the false self. A hindrance to my developing a sincere love for people or God. I have a new love for God as my true parent as I separate from my fear of my earthly parents. Perhaps we could replace the word ‘fear’ with ‘take seriously’

If sin is missing the mark, fear of the Lord is coming just short of his approval, formally. Formally is not something anyone can aim for, rather it is quietly, personally, intimately. The relationship is therefore only possible in that context, that is to say, you should be so honoured to have that relationship at such an intimate level. Anything else is doctrine, legalism and dogma. Fear is an outdated word that serves to reinforce hierarchical aims in truth as well as its potential for the same thing, 'in house'. Anything that could serve the purposes of the offering plate must be made approachable. If not, get out. You're in a cult!

This teaching is a lie from the pit of hell. Where is the joy? Where is the excitement of the adventure with our loving Father? No wonder Christianity is the laughingstock of the world. It’s the goodness of God that leads men to repentance. And that means fearing him. Which is just an old King James term which meant: reverence or respect. I’m not afraid of my Heavenly Father. He holds my hand and walks and talks with me! He’s my friend.

How can you love some who constantly reminds you they will beat you with many stripes as it were every time you sneeze or don't take out the garbage when its your turn... If this doesn't give God a bad rap then why should we be drawn to worship when we are driven by rejection and not drawn by compassion... Can't have your cake and eat it too...
