Please change how to get the Charge Beam. Hated the absolute mother of this hack until having to be forced to get Oat's video's having sheer luck to find it. I get there's a red plant on the dome protecting it but my god did I think I got soft locked in there by not getting Super's just like Oat's chat thought so too. Great hack after that nonetheless.

People asking if you can do it deathless. Yes and no. No because the game forces you to die at least once (there's a second area with a forced death that's really cool). Yes if you don't consider it a death as much as a cutscene.

@@robertwyatt3912 I asked DM on the forums and he told me that the rigged door with the blue thingies is a forced death, one of two. The other being a room in Andavald with an inescapable acid vat, making you revitalize to get an item in another save station, hinting at the game's plot. Plus, if you keep on screw attack you take no damage from those things, and the door keeps shut.

Seeing Oats arrive at a save station, as sparse as they are, and then choose to ignore it so he can instead glitch himself out of bounds and send himself so far back... This is genius. Oats has truly mastered the art of an anti-speedrun. I feel quite bad for the hack guy too, after Oats finally upped his brightness. We spent hours without being able to see half the map details. Oh god and now I'm at the part where he for some reason avoids the bottom left elevator and then thinks he cant speed boost back and... Just dear god. These aren't mistakes because he's bad at the game. These are mistakes because he's not thinking. This is painful. Oats shouldn't be playing something tough like this whilst so foggy. The ending was super damn cool. This hack was great!

You can actually damage ridley with the screw attack Just start space jumping till Ridley gets on the top of the place and you just spam screw attack and also try to avoid getting hit by his tail It melts through him

SOOO glad I played it before watching !!! I was sooo confused with the ending.... Caught off-guard ... so unexpected ... I thought I did something wrong at first. Thought the ending was half complete ... then I realized it was probably supposed to be like that. The storyline of Vitality was better than the original imho. While playing I knew what the story was !! In the original, it's more of a guess. . . Vitality was well thought out. So epic. My first thought on the ending scene was :: dood , if SNES was this good when I was a kid !!! Can we make music for these hacks ?? I'd be down to write some killer stuff ....

Holy hell that abyssal portion of Andavald at the beginning of this vod looks sick af, but damn was it hard to see what the hell was actually ground, turning the brightness up was a massive improvement 👍🏼 And wow the ending was insane, just wow was it incredible, Digital Mantra came up with one of the coolest concepts I've seen in a videogame, and probably the coolest in Metroid 🤯 Bra-fucking-vo 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Oooh, I get it: see, Metroid took a lot of inspiration from Alien, and Super Metroid was the third instalment, so this was like Alien Resurrection, where they clone Ripley and the alien queen. It *all!* Makes! Sense! I am mildly annoyed by the "save stations are cloning tanks" twist as a plot device, because save stations are a *game* mechanic, they aren't interesting as a narrative device. Player characters respawn because they're protagonists of a videogame. If you aren't willing to overlook that level of meta-narrative dissonance, you aren't invested in the game. Admittedly, the "baby metroid containment unit" graphics do mirror the save stations, so that was clever.

Agree with your sentiment. The Souls games bend over backwards to give lore reasons for why you always respawn at a bonfire and can never actually 'go hollow'. It's just a game mechanic, it doesn't need a sophistocated answer. It inevitably leads to inconsistencies anyway like others not respawning. Players almost intuitively understand the role of protagonist, even if it's your first game.

Nice playthrough, shame that chat keep dragging attention away and making it so he misses a lot of obvious routes and items, in addition to basically spoiling the plot midway through. Also, did he fight the Torizo bros? I don't think I saw the fights in here. Nevertheless, solid run, getting Screw Attack with the gate glitch, and Gravity with th Spring Ball glitch is something to be expected from a speedrunner, good game. PS: To the channel manager, you might want to change the thumbnail since it's a pretty heavy spoiler and the hack's creator specifically asked streamers and otherwise public runs of this to use spoiler tags, especially on the midpoint to endgame, for obvious reasons.

Once you have on it's a lot easier. just trying to remember how everything goes is impossible, lol. It needs like a way to add bookmarks or something so you can remind yourself to come back later.
