Actually i think Morocco played better in 2018, they were outplaying Portugal and Spain but Morocco had that African mentality. Entertain the crowds and viewers and go home after 3 or maybe if they are lucky 4 games.This time, they were the exact opposite. France was definitely not too much for Morocco. The Moroccan team dominated the game all along and attacked the French goal multiple times. There was obviously at least one penalty that was somehow ignored by both the the referee and VAR team. I believe the first goal was too sudden and quick in the game that it put a lot of pressure on the Lions but they still handled it well. Anyway it's football you win some you lose some . Not only Ziyech (Chelsea) Mazraoui (Bayern Munich) was absent due problems with the former coach, and others (now present in the World Cup). For the game against Algeria, key players were absent, we didn't use the best players. I knew that Morocco could reach the semi-finals or even the final, even before the start. Walid won the African Champions League with Moroccan widad FC before becoming an official coach of the national team. He is good with tactics. And we have strong and competent players. We lost in the semi-finals because of unfair referees, people are talking of conspiracy,football has become political. But also because of injured players. on average 50% of Moroccan players trained about football in Moroccan academies and reached big clubs worldwide I'm just proud. Morocco has thousands of skilled players play in streets , we are better than Brazil. The problem is , we do not have scouts! . Yet in Germany there are scouts everywhere

If you were watching the team for a long time, you'd realize that the biggest two things are very obvious; first of all, a chance of mentality, not only them but really most Arabian and African teams had a problematic mentality of "we are just coming to compete/entertain, and HOPEFULLY we will win" with a lack of strategy and organized teamwork. Secondly, the team was already quite strong, but the leadership was always a problem, I'm not gonna diss the previous French coaches, but they didn't understand the players nor let their egos go. Walid was almost like a grandpa to the players, like they're a family and very heartfelt to even convince Ziyech to get back to the team after he departed. Also, obviously, Walid is a very smart and calculative man, he was able to gather some great analytical staff and trainers, whilst also optimizing the players' overall output instead of just relying on individuality. He also did all of that in 3 months?! What he could do in the long term. Honestly, if Walid continues to be the coach with better prep, we could see Morocco take CAF and even get to the quarter/semi finals of WC again.
