I have been using the gravity method for years now, my Eshopps sump came with it. Knock on wood, no catastrophes yet. Thanks for the video and yes filling straight from the RODI unit kills the membrane, I found out the hard way back in 2016, fresh water reservoir is the way to go.

Having a ATO is one of the best investments I made right in the beginning of this hobby, I got a aqua one aquafill and it's been doing the job for me ,my sump comes with a reservoir so does not need a big pump. thanks for the video Sam .

I just bought this but struggling to connect the float sensor to the glass as the water level is high so it’s impossible for it not to be submerged. Any advice?

I had an auto aqua smart ato duo that I’ve been using for 4 years and discovered today that the pump no longer works, even after changing the pump to a new one it still wasn’t pumping out water to refill. Am considering getting another auto aqua such as the model you demonstrated as it’s cheaper than the duo. Does it also have an audio alarm sound when water level goes below the sensor like the Duo does?

I don't believe the lite does have an audible alarm. Other than that, it is essentially the same unit

Hey Sam I read that ATO are not really suitable for smaller tanks ie 30gl the remark was the ATO does not account for the amount of water the sock can hold when backed up. How ever the Kamoer one looks to suit me most

As long as you have an accurate sensor - it is no issue 👍🏻

Great video. Had auto aqua fail 3 times (including repaired unit), twice when on holidays, the repaired unit caused a flood 😭. Customer service made me cry 😢 unfortunately don't see tunze anymore.

@@ParkersReef I know right, luckily I was in the room working from home when he flood happened, although my reservoir was small as it was on waterbox 20 it didn't take much to fill out and flood. Anyway keep the videos coming 👍🏽

Why you wouldnt recommend ato of having directly from ro di with a solenoid valve
@ParkersReef2 ай бұрын
The first 30-60 seconds of operation on a RODI unit is very hard on the membrane and produces very high TDS output. That’s generally how long a typical top off takes, so you end up with poor quality water and wearing out membranes very quickly

Hi Sam always a pleasure watching but I shudder everytime I hear ATO ( Australian Tax Office ) never a great experience Was very relieved when It was Auto top off video :-) I have been running Auto Aqua for about 18 months only draw back i had was after a power out & reservoir was full when it reset the alarm would sound if pump ran for more than 30 sec .I solved this by putting in a battery backup and now its working great.

Ah nice one 👍🏻

I think the one hooked directly up to the RO/DI is better utilized to refill an ATO reservoir.
@ParkersReef2 жыл бұрын
there are other units designed for automating ATO reservoirs and they utilise a low and a high switch to ensure the membrane is left running for a longer period of time less frequently :)
