One thing I noticed about that is how when the fire alarm system goes into alarm, the System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance or L-series horns do some kind of weird pulsing, usually four blasts, before pausing and going into the standard Code-3. It's become like a trademark.

On the standard MDL (I don't know what the difference is off the top of my head), I've was able to not only get the Advance line to sync, but also the "classic" line as well...even on two wires. Not sure if you tried this, but this would work if you use jumpers for the horn and the strobe terminals on the four-wire "classic." These MDL modules are pretty cool. Never realized there was an MDL3R...great video, and nicely explained.

I don't own an MDL, but i do have one classic remote strobe up that goes in sync with the Advances. I have not tried just classics on it yet.

I have two versions of the ss sync module, I wanted to know if you put FWR power through one will it filter it so it’s filtered DC?

So if you have a 4 wire device, can you wire the horn and strobe circuit together and use the sync module?

Yes and No. it all depends if the device supports two-wire control and if there is a sync module/protocol for that specific device.
