I can’t believe it. He won 2 Europa Leagues, 2 Premier Leagues, dominated Ukraine by winning 11 trophies inside Ukraine, managed to get an underdog win by leading Shakhtar Donetsk to the UEFA Cup win. people like him are the reason why I believe footballer contract should include a "paid as performance" rule. Under this rule, the player will get a minimal amount if he remain fit (examples - staying below 12% fat ratio, or running a hundred meter in 12 seconds...etc). if the player fail to meet the criteria, then his weekly paid will be cut. If the player get injured during training or the game (with professional doctor making the call), he will still be compensated with the minimal weekly pay. At last, the player will get more bonus if he make an assist or score more goals, or perform with certain criteria set by the coach. this way they will try to be as productive as they can. let's be honest, we all know that most players strive to get that big fat 5 years contract at the age between 27-30, and once that contract is signed, they just relax and take advantage of the club and the fans.
